Do you reckon the rear cf damper stay would work with a noraml TT01 bulkhead if i cut off all the plastic shocktower??

You don't need this. A drop of CA works better at keeping the spurgear in place and at preventing wobble that resuults when the plastic ring moves away from the gear.

The super glue can be easily chipped away with an exacto knife when the time comes for a spur gear replacement.

finished my spur adapter and it works. I will try to post pics and a write up of how it was made.

I also figured out the 64 pitch gear combos for the A, B, C, & D motor mount positions.

A 121 total teeth
B 123 total teeth
C 125 total teeth
D 127 total teeth

There really is not any part numbers.

Just a quick tease of materials needed:

3/8 inch stainless steel pipe from the hobby shop (piece cut in length equal to the thickness of the plastic washer)
(this pipe's outer diameter is equal to the inner diameter of spur gears. the pipe's inner diameter is also equal to the outer diameter of the 61t spur gear side where the pin goes in)
stock 61 tooth spur (teeth cut off)(this part would be awesome if someone can machine an aluminum version that the screw holes could be threaded, then you would not need the nuts and the clearance would be that much better)
couple of 3mm x 6mm flat head screws
couple of 3mm thin nuts
spur gear of choice with holes to put screws through counter sunk.

hey i have the hobbywing 60 a esc and i was just wondering can you run brushed motors on it aswell?

and also f1larry im really interested to see the pics of ur spur adapter as i really want to make 1 aswell .

I pretty sure that you can run a brushed motor without any problems. Take a look at the hobbywing thread there was atleast one person on there that said it works with no issuse.

here are a couple of pictures of the spur gear adapter I made.

remember the maximum number of teeth for spur/pinion are as follows

a - 121
b - 123
c - 125
d - 127

let me know if you have any questions





this one shows a slot you need to cut into the motor mount t be able to tighten the pinion.

that thing must go crazy fast. does the front end hold out in the speed or does the car get extra twitchy? sweet fab job either way.

The car is set up for T/A(usvta) 4 cell 27T.
it is geared at 39 x 84 for a fdr of 5.6

Are the steering arms different on the TT01E ? I ask as I want to fit the TT01E topdeck to provide the top support for the steering posts, but want to ideally keep my alloy upgraded TT01 steering arms. I'm assuming having the posts supported top and bottom is a far better and efficient system.

I have not run this car in this class yet, I am building it for my son. I run my TB EVO III in this class and it is a blast.

The steering arms for the TT01E are plastic versions of the aluminum ones. what you describe is exactly how the upper deck works.
