Thanks Donny.
The car is really coming along well at SoCal. The track rod mod is really nice. Gives the front end a totally different feeling. Still have some more things I want to try mainly to see what they'll do. If anyone wants the setup I finished with tonight, drop me an Email and I'll send it to you. I'm not sure how well this will work outdoors but it may be worth a shot. It would probably be pretty good rubber tire on the rug.
Competition in 19 turn is so tight there right now. The top 3 or 4 I think were separated by about a second, (Donny qualified 3rd I think and finished second) Charlie Albrecht (Corally) and Thad Gardner (Hot Bodies) were also up there. Then 2 seconds back was 5th then all the way back to 10th (me) there was less than a second gap. About 5 seconds between 10 cars.

Snatched this from the novak brushless thread:
This is the car of user Marcos.J and notice the wear on the front belt. I have the exact same problem. Anyone have an idea to what could be wrong? Tried everything; checked if anything hit the belt, replaced all pulleys, but it's still comming back.

mine was caused from the belt bouncing up and hitting the pinion

Makes sense, I think I have the same problem. when you tightened the belt tension did it get better?

The pinion set screw can hit the belt with certain pinion gears and belt tension settings.

use short grub screws in your pinions, that will stop that wear !!
Have a feeling we will see some development parts on the Mi2 for the worlds, perhaps he might run carpet towers like some of the UK team have been doing of late, have to wait and see

I have used some heat shrink tubing over the pinion to save the belt, works good It makes removing the pinion a bit annoying, but with brushless I don't have to do it too often.
big progress
hey carpet guys,
i have the freakiest setup on the ec car ever for the rug (stock). i tested it all weekend against my custom car, and it's better than my custom car has ever been. more forgiving in the switchbacks without any loss of rotation in the 180's. it's simply disgusting. i have to tweak it just a bit to make it more driveable up front when the sauce is fresh and the voltage is big.
i'll be testing it in two weeks at scotty's place (trackside) to see if it holds up away from the gate. if it does, this will be an awesome base to start from for this winter, as it's also easy to drive. keep your fingers crossed. i have never had a car this good before.
i'll post the setup after the sizzler if it's still working.
