try getting the bigger bearings and doing away with the plastic carriers. if that doesnt work it might be your actual hub. it might be tweaked just a bit. is it just one side or both rear wheel hubs?

a .28 is gonna be a little faster but the engine really is garbage. the life span of that motor will be very short especially being your first nitro car. not to mention it is an absolute fuel hog....
