The K car has one side of the adjuser nut concaved to form to the pivotball. I don't think the Mugen adjuster nut is curved enough to run without the pad.

Really? Well I got it all in there without them so far. I will see how they go and get the pads if it looks like it is gonna be a problem.

It'll all fit without the pad. Does the nut look like it's sunken deep into the upright?

Well then you might want to look into getting the pads before you put in the adjuster nuts. You might want to compare the K car and the Mugen ones to see what I'm talking about the concavity on the nuts.

Please explain the "Mugen" mod
Guys;
I've been watching your discussion of the "Mugen" Mod to the V1R(R) and am curious. What are the benefits gained by doing all of this?

V one RR set-up
Hey guys what shock oils do you use? I'm thinking of going to 80wt for a high traction/high tyre wear car park track.
Also any ideas on camber, toe, caster, etc?
Here's a pic of the track:
For the big straight I've so far set the car to:
1.5 degrees toe-in front
2 degrees toe-in rear
-2 degrees camber all round
10 degrees caster
Thats my basic set-up, any ideas on whether a rear stabiliser is needed, and as for shock oil, 80wt sound about right? I would go with 70wt but I dont have any as of yet, I only have Integy 50, 60 and 80 wt......
Thanks.

Your racetrack
Robo;
I REALLY like the corners on that racetrack. Do you know how they are built? Would like to be able to duplicate out here for our track.
Thanks,

Hey, I love your Speed Racer avatar hehehehe.
Here is a diagram of the track layout:

The track is mostly 100mm pvc pipe cut in half with plywood ripple strips on corners.
I haven't raced there yet, I am next weekend though with my V1RR

BTW:- The cars go clockwise on the track.

Springs
What springs do you guys use other than Kyosho?
I tried getting Kyosho front gold springs for the V1RR but my hobby store (RMS for you Australian guys) are out of stock
