Can someone tell me how to select gears that work together...
This weekend I wreched a number of gears before I tried a larger on the second speed and figured out my problem was I was running a 55 and I should have been running a 56.
So how do I figure out what gears to run with other gears.

For example, a stock RRR comes with 1st pinion 16 and 1st spur 61, 2nd pinion 21 and 2nd spur 56. 16+61= 77, 21+56= 77
note that the difference between both pinions and both spurs is 5. As long as you keep an equal difference between both spurs and pinion then you should be fine. Just bear in mind that smaller pinions go for first gear and higher for second. The opposite applies to spur gears (higher for first and lower for second)
Hope I didn't bore you with my explanation..

No you did not bore me with your explanation..
Thank you very much... this helps a lot...
I feel really stupid asking this question and the I did not know about this... It would have save me a lot of gears this weekend...
It was by luck I burn all my 55 gears and had to use a 56, which was the one I should have been using in the first place....

I've never had a problem with matching gears, I thought all the combinations worked together?

Speaking of pinion gears, does anyone know of a good gear caddy, I really hate counting them out...

I qualified 8th. I was running 4th when I moved over to let the leader pass and got my car into the marbles. I proceeded to run the car almost full speed into the wall at the end of the straightaway breaking the left front upright. The car is good. The team is great.
.... Thanks Marc...
