thanks, found the adapter cable!

still, followed all instructions in manual to upgrade and upgradetool said to have send all bytes, but now all memory on ICC is gone!

followed all instructions again in opposite order, to stay sure
then repeated all steps again according to manual

now the ICC does not respond on anything!

what can or shall I do now?

anyone?

in theory, it will always stay in "update mode" incase a situation like this happens, (i have never done this before)... but i think you can try again.. from what i have read on this forum, the icc is hardwired to keep you on "update mode" unless a successful version of the icc is installed.

Exclamation Blue Screen Only?

[QUOTE=jtr]thanks, found the adapter cable!

Is the charger display Blue?
With no words or letters?
Mine did that, and we noticed that the female connector on the board was not soldered correctly, or a cold joint. The plug itself had come off the board. The thing is very fragile.
I returned mine to Horizon and have heard nothing from them, they said they would retun it to Erik, but I have yet to hear from them,and it has been a long time
I returned it in July and have heard nothing.
So another sad story, about this $400.00 paper weight, well in my case now a $400.00 poor investment!
Good Luck !

I had problem updating the firmware too. It end up nothing wrong with the charger but it is my computer .So make sure you use (((8,n,1,))) (standard setting) on com 1. then you should be ok. if it doesn't work , just try on different computer with that setting.

Hi,

Charger has now the blue screen.

When updating, everything works fine, but then it stops uploading
It reaches approx. 190.000, statusbar is full then. When this happens i leave it for 10 min or so. Should there be a "done"or "ready" message??

Tough guy, i'm using another adaptercable to make it possible to use the USB-port. I do not have a serial-port.
I do not understand what you mean with the 8,n,1 setting?

I do have a race next weekend, please help.

They are the Com port settings.

In XP, they settings are in;

Control Panel, Performance & Maintenance, System, Hardware, Device Manager (These are the menus you need to select in order)

Look in the COM ports etc and look at the 'Properties' of the ports, you can change settings in there.

If you are using a USB to serial convertor I'm not sure how it will work.

Hi,

The problem is solved!

The problem was the serial to usb adapterkabel.

Took the ICC to a computer with a serial port, started upgrading
and worked fine.

thanks for helping!

wow. it really amazes me what lengths people go to just to charge batteries. end of day, does it make you go faster?

i would think the time/money spent on using a laptop, etc etc would be better spent just practicing.

This is a charger i invest in because if it lives up to its name, ICC will certainly save the batteries in the long run.
