Ta04r...

i'm really not of much help here but still can't help but offer my comments...
the ta04r kit is the best-value-for money kit that u can get in the ta04 series,...not to mention the threaded spring shocks...it comes with a upper carbon deck and if u wan more carbon on ur kit,it would b an xtra cost.basically, there are still the front damper and rear damper and also the lower deck which are carbon tat u can consider.
as for the molded carbon tub,on the ta04r altezza,it is not cut with slots for the cells,...but i have heard that if u get jus the kit set alone without the altezza body shell,it is actually cut with slots for the battery cells,...not sure how true is tat cos i have not seen it myself,...

Hi all,
Yes, the TA04R Chassis Kit does come with the new, slotted lightweight lower deck. Apart from that both chassis are similar.

Ta04r vs. TC3
I'm interested in getting the '04r and was wondering how it compared to my TC3 as far as handling and maintaince. I know, different cars and all but I need some opinions. I've allways liked tamiya stuff (can't part with my '03f pro) and I'd love to beat some of the locals who run all the other stuff. They think tamiyas can't compete. thanks

Well last weekend I raced the 414M and a TC3. I brought both because I wanted to see which one I would be faster with. I have a TA04-R but I haven't built it yet. I'm waiting on the center and diff one ways to come in.
Long story short I was faster with the 414M than the TC3. I have driven a friends (2 different ones) 04-R and the handling is very close the 414M. It had a little more push (the 04-R) than my 414M but that's probably because of it having no front one ways.
I was a second faster per lap with the 414M. The TC3 didn't have a one way so it would push some what mid turn. I would have to let off the throttle where as with the 414M I was always on throttle. Even if it was half throttle. It was just go through corners like nothing. It was the cornering speed that made me faster.

I can't find anyone to beat Hiro's prices and he has very good communication.

Dragon,
I recommend you buy the "R" as opposed to the "Blue Edition". The main difference is that the BE has a fibreglass reinforced chassis for both the upper and lower decks. The "R" has a full carbon upper chassis and a carbon reinforced lightweight lower chassis. The BE comes with all the parts of the original pro blue the BE parts - so you get extra wheel rims, shocks, gold springs etc. You also get a Type-T motor (the "R" does not come with a motor). If you like "blue", then the BE is for you. Otherwise, the "R" is better because of the better chassis, the hardened reinforced toe in rear uprights and the racing hubs on the front.
Did I mention that the "R" comes in a cool carbon fibre colour box?

Yeah, I like blue too, so I actually bought the "R" but hopped it up with all the "blue parts".
