What rear bulkheads are you using? also do you find there is alot of flex due to you not running the top deck all the way back?

Gentlemen,
I'll post the parts and how to do the conversion later in a week or two. You have to have the mill to cut some aluminum parts. The FDR is 1.7:1 but I want to get around 1.4:1, some parts are coming. Thanks to Mr. Lightfoot funding for the project.

At this point it's best for 3Racing to come out with a bigger Center gear and smaller diff gear to reduce the 2.71 internal ratio that hurts top speed Performance. They can also try to switch to 48p gearing instead of those big noisy gears....

64 pitch would be even better.....and for fine tuning for that "just right" gearing that is sometimes needed.

Hears an idea for the belt drive:

3Racing is showing their all new line of 4mm ID shaft pulleys. Use the stock lay shaft with a PRS adapter from the JRX-S on it and one of those new pulleys in the middle. They clamp down with a set screw/screws, so centering the belt would be easy. It would be nice if it could work with the pin holes already in the shaft to anchor the pulley better, but not really an issue. Then use 3Racing's diff case with pulley instead of the gear drive or their ball diff with pulley. That eliminates the rotation reverse gear. Those layshaft pulleys come in sizes from 12 to 28 teeth. The only issue is finding a belt that small. Maybe the ABC goose rear belt would work?

Make sense?

64pitch is too weak for internals that are exposed to dirt and debris. I do agree that it would give better efficiency and gearing choices though.....

64dp is fine. I have ran 64dp for years in touring cars with exposed gears powered by silly fast motors, and have never had any issues with them.

Somehow I don't think your thinking spur and pinion. The others won't matter for a belt drive as all TC belts and pulleys run the same pitch belts for a belt drive. The large teeth on the stock setup from counter rotation gear, shaft gear, diff gear isn't noisy at all. The sound is unique though.

The gears are 48 pitch. they may be metric but I use standard 48 pitch pinions with no problem. If you have top speed issues then be sure you have the 35 tooth spur. I can keep up with any f104 easy. you may have to grind the motor mount and move the top deck post but the speed is there. Mantis has run a 38 tooth pinion on his. I run a 31 and its plenty fast for all but the largest straight.

if you have excessive noise check your diff for roundness of the gear. Mine was warped and caused a ton of noise. Switched to the ball diff and it was a ton quieter.

+1 i have no top end issues either!

I agree Pan and IRS F1 can't be run together for the same podium, but if it's just having a fun? who cares. the UF1 isn't ROAR or IFMAR

I'm still on the Fence about this IRS car, I'd love it as a basher and might get one but as the future of F1? not so sure.
