give it time, the pan cars have been around for decades, with the FGX being the first IRS production car and only out for a few months we are taking large strides. i think the writing is on the wall at least on rubber tires and Asphalt. I think on carpet it will just simply be drivers choice in the future.

+1 .. I do think these IRS and soon to be IFS F1 are doing pretty well with the 104's . last sunday I ran mine at TQ . starting last and finished 4th in the A with a field of excellant drivers. If the 2 are running in the same class I think F1 will be more exciting .. sofar both are proven on asphalt/ carpet .. Its nice to see new ideas coming to RC . makes things more interesting ..

imo, they will be separated in the future, just as WGT and Sedan 10th scale do not race together

Not only due to performance, but also how each type of car flows through turns

It's early days, and it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out

Most F1's are still relatively inexpensive, and that's good for growth
I'd like to see it stay that way

Kyosho had a full independent suspension F1 car about 15 years ago. It never had a successor.

If you get a chance to give one a try, you'll enjoy it. As to the future, who knows what will be sanctioned? I'd like to see AN F1 class represented as a standard and not just a feature class at will.

Just the easy way to reference the independent lower control arm with damper version over the fixed beam style lower arms of most current pan cars.

Maybe you guys misunderstood what I meant by smaller 48p diff ring gear. I think the diff ring gear has 39t and the middle gear is 17t, but not 48p. So if 3Racing came out with an internal gear set in true 48p and 58t ring gear and 32t middle gear for example, you guys would not ever need to grind anything to fit bigger pinion gears on the motor. I am going to try to fit the smallest diff possible to hopefully find a solution....

58t/32t x 1.18 = 2.13 internal instead of 2.71 internal gearing. With a 32t pinion and 35t spur you would get 2.32fdr instead of 2.96fdr with stock gearing. That's the equivalent of a 41t pinion and 35t spur with stock gearing, and less rotational mass.....3Racing should investigate that possibility or come with their same pitch gears, but with 37t diff ring gear or 35t , and 19t middle gear or 21t...

Hey Guys.
Desperate for some help....

Not long ago I bought a FGX. Since I love F1 and love the looks of it.
Bought FGX because of independent rear suspension.

But on my first run I see that my inner front wheel is lifting and on power my front is "jumping".
So I went out and bought some hop-ups. My car have this list now:

FGX
Speedpassions Cirtix Stock Club race ESC
Speedpassions MMM3 17.5R motor
CRC 4200mAh shortypack battery
Futaba S9550 servo
Futaba 4PK transmitter
Soft shimizu grooved tires front and rear
carbon lower chassi
35T spur
28T pinion

Rear:
alu bulk head
hardest sway bar
Original silicon oil in the diff and the dampers (that came with the kit)
extra stiffner for upper chassi
1 deg camber on rear wheels

Front:
spring set in front (hardest springs)
v2 front arms
35g weight
1 deg camber alu mount
1 deg camber on front wheel
1 deg toe-out

Now I need some help on getting my setup so that my front don't go 3 wheels on every turn. I like the speed of it now. Can't go any further with the pinion without modifying t a lot! But thats not my problem right now.

Any tip would be appreciated!

We have stuck some heavy diff oil on the kinpins, heaviest option rear spring and jacked the rear ride height RIGHT up there... also Ride tyres smooth the car right out.

hey all - got 2 questions...

1) what is the general consensus on tires? I'll be running on a fairly prepared asphalt track, recently re-sealed, but not smooth. I've seen guys saying the Pits are good, and others saying the Rides were good - so I'm a little confused on which to start with

2) has anyone found a motor that the motor mount stiffener actually works with? i've test fit my ballastic, Thunder Power, and a SP v3 and all hit the damn mount...

oh and a 3rd question

are either the McKune or Exotek upper decks available separately? I know Mantis has one, but was wondering if the others are available separately

thanks!

With the hardest swaybars and adjusted the rear dampers, I actually had 4 wheels on the ground today.
Need those springs as well.
Might be thinking about the tires.

Thanks man
