I'd define "small, tight track", but I haven't seen it since they redid the layout a few weeks back. I'm guessing no more than 90'x 70' since they were going to put an oval around the outside, but don't know. Wish we could get our ambient temps below 100. Every day in August but 1 was 100 deg+. Thanks for the help, it gets me started. The last time I ran TC was with my MR4TC Worlds car. NiMh batteries and V-brush motors were cutting edge then ha ha. Same issue I had when 1/10 off-road picked up here again. LiPo and BL and programmable speedos are great, but take a little learning.

Which motor would be better for 17.5 non-boosted Touring Car? ReVtech or D3

The Ad in Xtreme RC for ReVtech: wider power band for running 1-cell oval, 2wd short course and off-road trucks and buggies.

hey guys what is the difference between the d3 17.5 and the revtech 17.5 other than the added kv?Im asking this because i just bought a brand new d3 17.5 and wanna know if there is any huge differences between the 2 motors, mine runs great but is the revtech worth buying if i already have the d3 17.5?I run non-boosted tc right now but may run boost later.

3. Tune RS to get max timing whilst keeping temps way cool
4. Get new and more accurate Temp gun!

I've been running SP b4 and no issues with temps.

I've been in the hobby 3 years+ now and this was my first cooking, bit disappointed I guess!
Check your FDR settings. With all the torque at lower RPMS with endbell timing at 0*, you may want to start at 6.0 and check temps at 5 min. Let it cool and adjust up and down a couple pinion sizes and see what results you get. I run mine with 5* endbell, 40 boost, turbo ramp and other settings about the same and my sweet spot is between 5.4 and 6.0 depending on the track.

I'm looking for a rollout for 17.5 1S 12th for the Duo 3. I'm guessing between the 80 to 85 range boosted with the Tekin RS, but I have never run this motor. This is for Open ESC, I wouldn't mind a rollout for 17.5 no timing also.

Its actually 30 degrees. A BL motor wont run very well at all at true zero timing. Most all motors are 30 at what is called zero timing.

OK, thanks. That's what I thought, just wanted to confirm.

So, 30* static, 8* per line.

What is the difference?

The ad in Xtreme RC Cars: The ReVtech line features a wider power band for 1-cell oval, 2wd short course and off-road trucks and buggies.

What about touring cars?
