You should be able to splice a plug onto your fan and plug it into the batt plug on the receiver. Make sure the positive and neg wires are going into the right spots on the receiver. The third wire on the ESC and servo are signal wires. I wouldn't run the wires to the motor. That won't do any good.

That's a good thing. These fans draw very little power. You'll never notice it and you want the fan to blow full power all the time, not just when you're at full throttle down the straight.

What's the difference with the off-set rear hub mounting positions on carpet? Every carpet setup i've seen uses them.

OK, let me get this straight, when I splice a plug onto my fan<------ what kind of plug? and where do I get something like that? and what about that 3rd signal wire, is that something to worry about or do I need to splice something like that in too? This is all a bit remote to me, so guys please be patient

I'd just wire it like you would a personal transponder and plug it in the RX. That would seem like the easy way to do it and make it look clean.

Your probably better off directly soldering the wires to the prongs or to the motor, because splicing wires into a new reciever plug requires a specific crimper($25, It's made by MIP).
You need a batt reciever plug, it's found on nitro car's battery boxes.

Or you can just use an old broke servo and solder the leads on.

The offset hub takes away rear traction. Carpet has so much bite and this is a way to free up the rear end a little.

I just soldered the fan's wire terminals to the motor terminals and I like the way it works actually; I figured that you can't have the fan running continuously anyway when you change batteries. But what do I know?
I will get another one though and try to hook it up the other way.
BTW, what I'm looking for though is the bracket that holds the motor plate down; I've heard that there is one that's an actual heat sink made for the XXX-s. Anyone know of this?

yes there is a heat sink it is from trinity it works real well it cost about 12.00
