Ran the roll center mod on carpet with foams today. Car felt very good, but did not have enough turn in with 6 degrees of castor. I went to 8.5 and the turn was good. Overall the change was good and the car felt more consistent and less erratic. I tried kick up and pro-squat. I liked it best even, but prosquat felt better than kick up.

Also tried Associted #3 pistons with 80 weight in the front and the car had a bad chatter. #2's with 80 all around feels best thus far.

Experimented with upper arm location on hub. Short links seem to let me carry the most corner speed. Long links feel good and are stable, but I feel a loss in the infield.

With really small tires (2.20 or less) I had to go to a softer spring in the rear for traction. Car seemed to lose traction about 3 minutes in.

I was able to get a 128 (64 pitch) spur gear on the car with the adapter and the car had excellent acceleration and straight away. I tired stock and mod and it was awesome. Bigger the spur the better with 20t pulley.....

I am going to try putting the front back down stock and lowering the rear arms to be equal with the front and see what effect I get there. Reversing the current roll center mod. Lower the rear instead of raising the front...... Might be awesome. Might not

Hope this helps!

Ottoman,

I sorta agree with Pat, but I would definately advize greens over reds unless your traction is very low. It will chew the inside lip of the tire with reds if you have anything better than average traction. However, if you really want to get hooked, try CS22s or 27s. Preglues will be fine. With tons of traction CS MH insert will be better. You can start with 22's, but if you overdrive the car you will overheat the 22s and feather or blister them. In that case, go to 27s. The Take Off tires have a lot more steering on asphalt than Sorex'. Trust me on this.

Here in Australia we use Take Off CS27 when its cool, and if it gets above say 25 degrees celsius we move to Sorex 36 with HPI green insert. Ble possibly if its hotter. The red insert we found too soft and caused the tyre to overheat and squirm as you described with the Sorex 28. I could imagine the 28s would have been pretty ugly in hot weather.

Bit of a Schumacher domination today in a club meet here. TQ and 1st and 2nd in mod with some great racing. Our Missions were just going so well. Very reactive, responsive and easy to drive. My setup is below:

I did break a carbon chassis yesterday however. Rear arm got ripped out and the blocks with it breaking at the rear. Not too happy but it was a freak accident and ive never broken a chassis in 6 years of racing.

I actually found my first broken part on my Mission today. I say 'found', because I never would have known if I hadn't been taking the car apart to clean the bearing.

When I took one of my wheel hex's off, I found that I had actually broken the axle pin that engages the hex. I don't even know when it happened. Anyway, I guess that isn't bad for my first broken part on a Schumacher sedan since my original SST2000!

I know this has been asked before, but what parts are needed to preform the low roll center mod to the front of the Mission, I know for the most part washers will work, but on the front I remember someone stating that you needed parts from another kit. I just can't find the info. Part numbers would help too.

Ottoman.....which track were you racing at over the weekend? Were you racing with the Madison guys if so I remember Skip told me that the track there is very hard on tires, its got a very abrasive surface. If that was were you were racing I would go with like the other guys suggested Sorex 36's with red or green inserts or the Take Off 27's, just because the tire wear and the track will build more heat in the tires. Also if you go with the Sorex tires try to get a little bit of an air gap in the tire and put two or three larger size holes in the rim to keep the tires cooler.

impactplayer......the part numbers are u1988 0deg alloy piviot block for the fireblade and u1989 3deg alloy piviot pin block. You also need to cut your front hindge pins down a little too. These are the only real parts that you need. You should also make a front brace to go over the front blocks to support the chassis as it can crack in a hard wreck with this mod done.
