Hey, sorry I haven't been around much but with finals going on (I work at a University), a new car to test, and a review to write, I haven't had much free time. It looks like everyone has the same conclusion that I already had about the car...it ROCKS. I hope to do more testing this weekend, specifically on the 17/20t pully issue. The article and car are getting ready to get shipped of for pictures, so be looking in the mags for the write-up.

Kevin K- If you are only getting 2 runs out of a set of Sorex tire's then something is wrong with your set up or maybe you have the wrong insert in the tire. What insert are you running? If you're running these tire's on carpet then you should get way more than 2 runs.

STLNST....Its not that the tires only last two runs its that after two runs they a slower. This is backed up by the lap times. They are fast for two runs then are slower by 3 to 4 tenths on the third run. I can run Yokomo or Pit tires and they are the same for 2 weeks easy. This is with 20 and 24 compund sorex tires. I can use 24 and 28 compound tires but the Yokomo 139g's are faster then them and last longer. I dont have anything againts the sorex tires just that I feel that they dont last long enough. I dont want to have to run 2 or 3 sets of tires a weekend thats stupid for a club race.

Does anyone here cut down the ballcups on the end of the suspension rods? Im just having trouble getting my ride height down due to the length of the springs. Ive tried blue and red and they are quite long. I can only get about 7mm ride height. Ive tried shock lengths from 64mm to 67mm and the ride height stays the same, so it is being limited by the length of the springs. The front seems ok through, its just the rear. On the front ive got 5.5mm with a small spacer.

Kevin K- I will take a look at the lap times from begining to end this weekend. So far the tire has been very fast until the belts come through. I myself have been running the Yok 137 (with no M) Yokomo no longer makes this tire from what I understand. You have to run what works for you. What insert did you try out in the tire?

I have tried HPI Red and Green as well as Yokomo Firm and TakeOff firm and its always the same result. Now if you are going to look at the results from last week did you have sticker tires for the first Qualifier? If not then the times will be the same but they might have been faster when they were brand new. This is just what I have noticed with the tires and transponders and the transponders dont lie.....although sometimes I think they do. Like I said I will try them again Im just not going to keep buying them if this is the way they work.

I hate you guys...I am soooo jealious!!! I want a mission!!!! 30 days til' I can order mine. What tuning parts should I order with the car so I am prepared (springs, ect.) Also I want to be totally different than the rest of the crowd, so I am also gonna run rubber tires... Everyone in the stock class uses purple/purple foams or purple/plaid foams... the track is a smallish asphalt indoor track with air temps around 65-70 deg. what tires/inserts would you recommend?? With no tracton compound allowed I think rubbers could be just as fast, and I am also gonna get a set of tire warmers. BTW: I believe that when racers wanna go fast without having to actually work on it the use foams, just an opinion!!!

I currently plan on getting:
Titanium hingepin/ turnbuckle kit
stainless screw kit (the use hex drivers not phillips right??)
Mission (carbon)

What pinion assortment should I get for stock racing? I also heard that Schumacher made a set of set-up wheels, if so what is the part# and price??

I know alot of questions, but I wanna be prepared to kick XXX-S and TC3 rear!!!!

Just want to point out that the screws in Schumacher kits are not Philips. they're Pozi screws, and if you order the Pozi driver when you order the car you'll love them. MUCH nicer than Philips, the driver does not slip like a Philips does. If you try to use a Philips driver with these screws you're in for a lot of curisng and sweating.

I did not know that the standard screw set was not phillips, but is the stainless screw set posi or hex?? I will probably get the posi driver anyhow...do all the csrews use the same driver?? Thanks agian

Kevin.... Thanks for the setup. I just finished tweaking the car and I am going to try it tomorrow at our local track. I should have it Sunday at Trackside and I am sure I will have some questions for you.

Impactplayer...you might also consider the threaded shock bodies...not essential, but really nice. As for tires on a track like you describe, try the TakeOff CS-22 with a firm insert (Yok or Echo) (will turn in hard), or a Med insert for a little less turn in. Range of pinion sizes could go from 25 to 28, normally...you can vary the internal ratio with the pulleys provided. On a larger track you could go to a larger pinion than 28, and on a smaller track you could go below 25, but that should get you in the range (I'm assuming you're racing stock...for mod I would probably go down to a 23....)

Oasis...Whas Up Chris...not sure whats going on with your ride height. I built mine at 67 mm shock length, and checked with yellow, red, and silver springs, and had no problems getting down below 5 mm ride height front and rear. You didn't accidentally install a set of off road springs...just kidding...did you check the upper camber link for binding....if you're running the lower bulkhead hole and in line position on the hub the ball cup may be hitting the hub? Or what about the lower ball stud..is there enough space to allow the hub to move? I know I'm reaching, and you've probably checked all of that, but thought I'd make the suggestion...
