I was talking with Todd F and crew from Michianna RC about next year....I suggested that why dont all the tracks in Indiana get together and run/start a VTA or On-road series.....Like at Indy Slots, New Indy Fair Grounds track, Summit and Michianna RC...and any other one thats in the state?.....and on the race days of that possible series at Summit and Michianna have them be the same days that the Great Lakes/All-Star race would be there so there is some cross promotion on the same days at the same tracks for even bigger turn out?

Just an idea for next year.....

I can understand that. 2 hours of driving is about my limit-leaving the wife at home all weekend with the kids doesn't go over very welll...

You can get to every track in indy other than michiana within 2 hours....I think it would be awesome to do that Kevin and they could probably just insert it into an exsisting event...

My 25.5 stator assembly arrived today!!

We're set for testing pretty much ALL day Saturday. We'll have the following specs all on the track for side-by-side comparison:

4-cell / 27T...the original spec and what we hope to get close to performance-wise.

2s / 21.5...the current spec, too fast for the original intent but on track for comparison purposes

2s / 25.5...the dark horse, cheapest "fix" if changes are forthcoming. I'm guessing it'll be closer to the 1s / 13.5 combo I tested early in the fall than the desired 4-cell / 27T level of performance, but we'll see

1s / 17.5...the combo I honestly think will be closest to the desired performance level, but I may be proven wrong

Will provide data Monday or so!

All cars are WELL sorted machines driven by veteran racers (all with 20+ years experience) and VTA racers since before there was VTA. We'll see what's what!

I have already quit....but came back just to quit again when any new rules may or may not happen....then I will quit just on the principal of the new rules just because they are new and I already don’t like them even when I have no idea what they really are....then I will come back again so I can raise my mighty keyboard in anger and claim to quit…..but really all I want is to complain about things on the internet because its fun.

I quit because I quit when I quit since I had already quit and was going to quit after I quit quitting.

I'm quitting now before you can quit over the rules.

For the New Year I have resolved, fully aware of the irony inherent within, to quit quitting.

Go figure.

The link below is to the 2010 rules for the USVTA. These rules will not be enforced until September 1, 2010. There will be nine months to adapt your cars to comply with these rules. I understand that times are tough right now, so there should be plenty of time to swap, sell, or save the money to have the correct equipment.

I understand that there will be those who will disagree with what has been done here, but right now the biggest issue with any class is the ESC. There is no extra tech required with the controllers that will be allowed, since they have no timing advance.

Novak Electronics will be establishing a portion of their web store dedicated to Trans Am. They will have complete 25.5/Havok systems available, as well as exchanges for the 21.5 SS motors and other items. The 25.5 Ballistic stator is available right now for those who have a Ballistic motor.

My hope is that the cars will be more drivable and bring the racing closer than it has become in the last 6-8 months. I hope these changes will make things stable for the months and years to come.

Rob--thanks for having the fortitude to make the tough decision(s). I think you've done the right thing for the long-term health of the series.

I draw your attention to the minimum weight...I wouldn't mind at all seeing it raised to 1550, but I'm guessing that's a typo and 1450 was the intent.

Things I REALLY like:

Elimination of FDR rule...pretty much impossible to tech in any realistic fashion anyway.

Mandating esc's without timing adjustment, etc.

Continuing to spec a motor

Things I'm not as sure about, but am comfortable with:

Staying 2s but with 25.5 motor. I've not tried it yet so I certainly can't say one way or the other if I'd prefer that or the 1s / 17.5 combo. The 25.5 option but going with the more pedestrian esc's is probably, looking at it in all clarity, the "minimum pain" option for the most people.

Congrats on a fine looking set of rules that should be able to serve for a long time to come.

Long live King Rob!!
