Just got done with the annual 2015 Novak at my local track. With 284 entries and some of the fastest racers in the mid west I knew it would be tough to do good. With 5 full heats of 4wd buggy I was trying a lot of setup work to get an edge. After 2 qualifiers I was not looking good as I was in the D main of qualifying. I put my setup on the buggy that I was using before this race and the buggy was on! The 3rd qualifier was much better but too little too late. I was able to get to mid pack of the C main. In the C main I was able to take 2nd and bump to the B main. In the B main i was starting last and was able the get to 6th place.

Here is a video of the B main. I am the last buggy orange and silver body with yellow wheels.

Cool video. Looks fun!!

Any chance you'd list your set up? Same kind of track surface I'll be racing on this weekend. Haven't been on a track with this car yst....just finished building it and just some runs up and down my street to break it in a bit and get the toe/camber set.

Im new to the D413, do I need to limit the shock travel, with internal inserts, as I noticed there is no droop screws, and there is heaps of droops

Thank you. If I didn't mess up I wouldn't need the Marshall. I learned more about this buggy this weekend. I learned more about running indoor this weekend. I was able to pull out a win in pro4 because of what I learned. In 2 weeks our points seires starts so we will see how I do then.

No need to limit shock travel. It has a lot of droop and it likes it. There has been instances of adding a couple limiters on very high bite.

Default Rainy Monday

I ran into a light post yesterday and broke the front shock tower mount. A guy picked up my 413 and said "this looks like it will end your day". Now I'm thinking it could end the season. Why can't HB keep any spares in stock? This is depressing!

Yes you'd want to add 1mm this helps with piston action.

Also pay attention to stroke length typical is
24mm front, 32mm rear

fix it. couple of small screws, CA glue, and the carbon fiber spare parts we have from saddle packs set up. i did it while i was waiting on replacement and i think i fixed mine better than a new one.

Thanks Floyd!!! I searched ebay yesterday and did not find anything. But sure enough I found it tonight. It was $2 more than Tower but what the heck. His site says he has 5 more if anyone else needs one.

Nitro, thanks for the tip but I busted it so bad it is not going to be easy to figure out how it can go back together. Maybe I'll reinforce the new one when I get it. Or maybe watch out for those light posts

Really impressed with the build so far. Love that the first things done were shocks, diffs, and tie rods. They will just drop in place when I get to them. Not bad HB........
