Hey guys,
I have been running my car the whole last Indoor season and the whole year outdoor. I simply love it, it's the best car i have ever owned.
Since the Outdoor season began in April i rebuilt the dampers with the aluminium shock caps as i had the regular plastic caps coming off from time to time although i really liked their design.
Now what i realized is that after a 6 minutes run i often can see that shock oil came out of the tiny hole in the shock cap. Since the plastic caps don't have these holes i am wondering what this is for? If i run about 10 runs i assume that there is missing a certain amount of Shock oil causing the damper to suck some air.
Is this hole for exiting oil while landing hard after a jump? But why do the plastic caps haven't got that hole?
I know from the 1/8th dampers from a friend that these have this hole too but i never saw oil coming out of it. Guys any help is much appreciated!

Are you missing the bladders or sounds like not seated properly. I'm running emulsion style which require to cut the bladders in a certain area and then bleed the oil on final assembly and when screwing the plastic shock cap down. Mine have been built for about 4wks now and no oil leaks here.

I run them emulsion style And have cut the bladders. I have now cut a new bladder on the very highest possible point to give much rubber on the side and screwed the cap on as tight as i can. Don't know of anything i could do more.
Has anybody got a picture of how he cut the bladders just to check i am not missing something?

I don't think many are using the servo saver anymore. With todays high torque servos, they're really not needed.

I have the VRP 2 hole 1.6 and 1.7 pistons/traxxas X rings and the HB aluminum shock caps coming. What is the best way to set these shocks up for indoor clay, bladder/emulsion? Going to start with Ty's setup that allot are running and the sheet says "No bladders" So what seals the caps? Just want to make sure I have what I need and am not lost when I go to do it. Thanks

You'll probably want the emulsion style, where you cut the bladder at a certain part on the "dome" of it. I think on the first page it shows where to cut.
When I first built mine, I was running normal bladder style, but a couple weeks in at a big race I tried the emulsion style and made a huge difference. I've been running that ever since now.
The Traxxas Xrings are butter smooth

c-clip
I lost the c-clip that holds the outer bearing in. in the rear gearbox the parts diagram shows I have to buy the gear set to get this clip. anybody know what size this is and if I can buy it without gear set........

Are you talking about the snap ring that goes around the rear pinion/dog bone pocket....
