Pics of MY NTC3s
The one with yellow wheels is my very first hobby grade NITRO RC car. It is the real deal and I bought it 12 Yrs ago and upgraded parts here and there as I could (note the V2 rear and carbon fiber radio tray). As typical for AE, they announced the car, and immediately it went on back order, so I pre-paid for it at hobbytown and waited and waited. It was all the buzz for about 5 months, as AE announced it was making a Nitro Version of my beloved TC3 electric, which I still run as my VTA (that one is 15yrs old )
I've destroyed more engines than I care to count as there was no such thing as youtube back then, it was trial and error, and wait for Tower Hobbies to stock your part. LOL.
As the electric cars have come and gone, AE still lists these nitro cars as part of their current line up and if I'm not mistaken AE won at least one world championship in one beating both Kyosho and Mugen!
Parts are still being produced, and they are as cheap as RC gets for 50+mph with actual handling, sorry Traxxas lovers, but its true. In fact, these are some of the fastest and easiest to work on cars you can find, again sorry Traxxas and HPI lovers, but its true.
NTC3s can be had for as little as $75 ask Bryan Maynard- his even came with an engine. If I recall correctly, he bound his radio to it, borrowed my bump box, and turned around and won a dash for cash the very next day making nearly half his money back as he ran for his life being chased by Josh McDaniels' ebuggy .
In the hands of a decent driver they are deadly fast and will run with cars that cost 3-4 times as much! Ask Limmy.
If you can get your hands on one for a fair price snatch it. If you have one laying around, blow the dust off and get that baby running.

I was wondering the same thing as far as popular classes. Unfortunately I sold my VTA literally like 4 days before this Onroad thing at Chilhowee was mentioned.....

VTA and nitro 1/10 will probably be the most popular, but 1/8 GT in both nitro and electric should be sweet. Be on the look out for some specs that will posted in the next day or so if you feel like running 1/8 electric on 4s brushless power. SICK!!
