Agreed however on a 13.5 R1 V16 , I cant go above 35 degree on the can without the motorlyser screaming over current and shutting down. Motorlyser doesnt have an awnser

Default ESC calibration

What is the calibration procedure for the 80amp LCG. Mine didn’t come with instructions, and the online FAQ is vague.

Thanks

If you download the link above it contains many files, one of which is called LCG ESC.pdf that describes the process. I've also included the file I think you are looking for.

Bought an R1 25.5 V16 for the VTA car I built, bought it end of March , was delivered to me on April 1st , Ran it 1 and 1/2 race days , thought I had a bad sensor wire, replaced it .... everything was "ok" to finish the day last Sunday ..... ran it yesterday in practice , ran fine..... then started qualifiying , put the car down and motor started cogging again , no solder bridges , changed the sensor wire again , still cogging ..... finally stopped running, removed it from the car, checked it on my motor checker .... NO sensor lights AT ALL ...... Sensor board is bad . Contacted R1 via their website, supplied them with my proof of purchase ..... was hoping they could send me a replacement sensor board (without me shipping them the motor) ..... I will send them back the bad sensor board if they wish.

5-7 r1 emailed and said they would send me a replacement, thank you R1 , ive had other sensor boards fail too, not just them, but they are taking care of the issue ... cant ask for much better then that

Same here. Have never had sensor boards go bad before but had two go bad in my R1 25.5T motors. They are fast as hell though so I guess that's the price you pay...

Have the 25.5 motors ever been resubmitted for roar approval or will they remain illegal?

Steve doesn't get on this site but If you are having any issues with R1 products, go to the website and fill out a RMA form. (https://r1wurks.com/)
Also if you you have technical issues you can contact them via the phone number.

I know there was a lot of chatter about illegal motors being found, but are you saying my V16 25.5 ROAR approved motor is no longer legal? Thx.

Only the first batch (yr old) are actually roar legal . only 1 r1 I'm aware of made it thru tech at a roar event . now I'm told the ir isnt below USVTA standards ...but based on the submitted motor all the newer motors are below those specs (which means they are not legal ) . so be warned if a race you attend goes by roar #s it probally will not pass

with all these sensor boards going bad, i wonder if they're shimming the rotor too close to the sensor board. i had that happen to me with my monster max. sensor board went bad after like 3 race days. bought a new board and shimmed the rotor one shim further away and haven't had any issues.

Thanks. I have 2 of the 25.5's and at least one of those has to be close to a year old. Not sure where any of the 25.5's I have fall as far as #'s go. I guess this explains why the R1 is a very popular choice for the class lol.
