I've done a little testing with the pack F-Brushes I got a week ago. Taking the advice of guy that has them running REALLY fast using the Roar Binary... I tried the same setup in a monster and they were fast but not like his. What combo do you recommend for them in a Monster? I'm using Blue/Green right now and it seems the motor doesn't have the torque.

Hi schdp,

Try shaving both sides of the brush just a little (i.e. narrow it) and put a vertical slot in the middle. I tried this at EA's recommendation and it worked really well. Just keep playing with the brush in several different motors, I think you'll find that they're the best choice out there. If have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask. If I'm wrong on that recommendation I'll let EA correct it .

Did you run the normal spring tension when you did that? I'll have to pick up a brush slotter and try this out tonight. We have a big New Years race that I'm trying to get ready for...

I would start out with red springs on both sides with the positive tweaked just slightly stronger. You can actually slot the brush with a dremel tool rather than a brush slotter if you are careful. Just use the cutoff wheel to make a thin vertical slot in the brush face. I have a carbide steel diamond coated cutoff wheel I picked up at Lowe's, I use it to make the slot.

I've been playing with the F brushes too. I've been seeing some really good numbers on the dyno.

I've been liking the red/green combo for both 4 cell 12th and 6 cell touring. The only difference is I will slightly tweak the touring green spring just a hair more. This goes for stock and 19 both.

I agree with EA and Brandt the best for touring I've found so far for most motors is narrowed slightly with a thin vertical slot. I used the red/green combo stated above. Also stock and 19...

On 12th I run the brushes full width with a vertical slot...

I've also tried slightly narrowed with a 3/32" hole and red/green springs on a couple peak dynasty 19's. They seem to like this combo.

On the Reedy QM's it still seems to favor the full width and 3/32" hole with the F brush. I use green/green springs with the positive tweaked a little more. (remember with the fat comms you have to spring down b/c the comm is bigger in order to achieve the same tension as on a reg. comm motor.)

Here is the what I've noticed.

Vertical slot seems to add torque w/o hurting the rpm.
3/32" hole seems to add even more torque, but you sacrifice some rpm.
Narrowing the brush reduces rpm and adds torque.
The biggest advantage I see to narrowing the brush is that it allows the motors to run cooler in 6 cell applications especially touring car. Less heat = more power...

I always use the monster... I like motors with more torque usually...

I think it has a lot to do with driving styles too...
I'm not saying its a bad motor... I've just always had better luck with monsters...

I have peeps over here who love the roars, but the monster overall is better indoors EA did tell me this when i first started,slowly but surly more monster are being sold for indoor racing,
But it`s a different story when we go outside on bigger tracks

Hey Guys I got the latest batch of F brushes in and they are simply awsome!! Better than the last batch. We tweaked the compound just slightly and I think this is it. I am almost out again but there are still some bulk packs up on the site. I will have a few thousand pair more next week. All orders placed after Tuesday of next week wont go out till the following Tuesday. I will be at the Novak race in WI. I will also have plenty of motors for sale then as well...My other two cases will be here while I am gone.

On another note I would like to welcome Billy Spence to the EAM Team....Im slowly building one of the best Stock/19 turn on road teams around it seems!! Good things to come in 05!!
