Was wondering if the speed of the orca 10.5tx is comparable to other motors with the same turns(kv). Thanks for any feedback

I have an orca 10.5 tx I just picked up for a Short course late model spec class on a new dirt oval. Was wondering if any one has ran this motor. All I am seeing is talk about the higher turn motors. Was wondering if a 60 amp speed control could handle this motor

I believe it comes with the standard rotor which is a 12.5mm rotor which is stronger then ,pst High torque rotors. It will be more then enough for the buggy. I am using the 5.0T and it is considerably faster then other 5 turn motors.

Anyone recommend a starting point for gearing FDR in 4wd 1/10th buggy on medium size indoor track for the ORCA TX 7.5Turn , also my motor came with the endbell timing at one mark below the 10 , so on the negative side of 10 is that normal?
I was wondering if they have much internal true timing in them or not so as to know if its safe to leave my ESC timing at its default of 18.75 deg (SP Reventon MOD0 software)

Can anyone tell me if the programming card is required to tune a VX-1? I'd be running in blinky anyway, but curious if spending the extra money for the card up front is worth it. Thanks!

Yepp Adam, it is. I have both the updater and the program card whenever you need it. You'll need to update to 4.1 for my card to work for you...so bring a laptop

Oh, I see, there is a USB updater too. Dammit. Can you program/adjust the ESC without the program card?

I don't have the VX-1 yet, just window shopping for now to figure out what to run in the 1/12th scale
