PMR Girl, thanks again for the packs! I've put a few cycles on them and they just keep getting better. As they say...."the checks in the mail". Has PNP (Pete) placed a recent order with you? At last check he said he needed to because he was out of everything! Just can't keep a good thing in stock..lol! You know, I finished 2nd several weeks ago at the Indoor Carpet Shootout in touring oval 19, which I used as a warm-up for the birds race. I didn't have my new cells yet and I lost to my buddy who was powered by brand new Pro-Match 3800's! I did manage to TQ but I think I pretty much got beat by my own brand of cells! His 3800's stayed just a little too strong compared to my 3300's at the end of the run and I just couldn't close up that .45 of a second to catch him...lol! I went from almost a lap down to making up all of it except about 4ft. or so and his cells just didn't let up.

i been checking out tekin's battery doctor, and i always thought that discharging more than 0.90volts per cell wasn't recommended, but now jeff recommends the battery doctor that discharges to 0.50 volts per cell? im just curious to the reason behind it?
also, what are the main differences or advantages with these new equalizing trays such as novak's smart tray, team much more's new tray and the battery doctor? thanks

Actually the past Pro Match Smart Trays went below .90 volts per cell for the past several years. It wasn't really going past the .90 volts that we worried about as much as taking them all the way to 0 volts (deadshort). Jeff has tested the tekin tray and feels this is the best tray available and even decided against making his own since the Tekin tray fits exactly what he was after.

Well I finally get to post something about Pro Match in Canada!!! After a long Christmas break in the Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series (first race was in early November in Edmonton) we ran the second race in the four race series. This race took place in Lethbridge, Alberta and I am pleased to say that I was able to put my Pro Match powered 1/12th car into 2nd place in the "A" Mod!! The car ran flawlessly and I couldn't be happier (except for maybe a first place and less brain farts when driving...oh yeah, and be a little younger so the reflexs are a touch quicker!! haha) I was also able to win the A main 1/10 Pan Open class with my Associated 10L2.
Anyhow, thanks Jeff and especially Erika for providing such great cells and exceptional service. With so many of the guys in town now running Pro Match stuff, the competition is getting too close, making me have to drive better, 'cause they all have the same power I do now!!!
Thanks again for all the support,
John Hughes

I have been out of touring cars for about a year so i figured it was time for some new packs. I went with the 3700 for 2 reasons, one the price you guys have is great! The second is where my question lies. I hear the GP is a little easier to take care of than th IB or IP. Is this true? I realize the voltage is a little lower and the IR is a little higher, but to be honest those things dont matter that much right now since i am sure to be in the boards quite a bit anyway! Besides some of my packs are still 3000's so these are going to be much better than what i have anyway.

Talk about lifespan....
hey Erika, Jeff
some news you guys would be very proud of....
yesterday i raced for the first time in months. the only batteries I had were the GP3300s i purchased LAST MARCH (march 2005) for the Reedy Race. those bad boys are still running strong to this day. they were so strong, I TQ'ed expert stock in the first round. i didnt get to complete the second qual, since my car broke. from what i remember everyone was a lap down from my TQ time.
almost a year old 3300s setting TQ in a field filled with IB3800s and GP3700s.

I have not been able to find the thread on the 3700's. How do they need to be taken care of? Also looking to add another charger, I just have the Reedy ac/dc right now. I thought i remember something about step charging them which mine can not do. The only challenge is a really tight budget. Thanks in advance for the help.

tcmerf: The 3300 care is a good rule of thumb IMO. http://www.promatchracing.com/faq.htm
I no longer run the 3700's but Hebiki still does adn several others here may be able to chime in and give their preferences.

I bought some Promatch GP3700 last year. I normally practice every weekend and I race every 2nd week (awesome battery btw). I've got some old GP3300 that i use as practice packs.. So i wonder what is better to my promatch battery? should i use them every week (i.e on practice and race days) or would it be better if i store them and only use them on the race days?

as for step charging. the only benefit ive seen is that my cells come off the charger cooler. performance was the same. i think this is part of the reason why my 3300s has lasted this long. but even before step charging, my promatch stuff always lasted a long time.

Cool, thanks guys. Looks like the Reedy is going to have to do for now though as my laptop just died. I am so ready to buy a Mac!
