Is it possible to get the kv rating for the Vortex 2008 RACE 3.0?

Any suggestions on a ballpark FDR for the new 17.5? I'm thinking rubber tire on carpet, and a track roughly exactly the size of the IIC track. :-)

How fair of a comparison is it to look at those numbers against the KV ratings from other manufacturers?

Glad to hear you guys will be at IIC. Would getting tips from the factory guys violate the 17.5 class' spirt, though?

Also, is the KV rating for the "spec" versions of the 17.5/13.5/10.5 any different? Like, maybe a little higher? :-)

Every company does there KV Ratings a little different.

There is no problem at all getting gearing advice from the factory guys.

I just got my first Orion brush-less motor. What is the adjustable timing for. I have the 13.5. Also is there any other timing reference points to check besides the sticker. Mine appears to be on wrong. Part of the sticker is on the "c" terminal. I am running it truck class if that effects timing settings any or do you leave it at zero.

Hi Cameron,

For the 13.5 motor you will want to leave the timing at 0.

Thanks,
JP

So how does the new 13.5 compare to last years? I have what i guess would be the 2nd generation with no fan. should it be geared any different?

You will want to gear the new motor the same as the old motor.
