Default New Mamba Max problem

Hi guys !

I've just bought a combo mamba max 7700. I use it on my Losi XXX-G+ with Nosram quite new 3800 matched packs.

Well, the first two runs were quite amazing. Great acceleration & top speed. Great stuff I though then. But a problem appeared during the following runs. Sometimes, the motor suddenly stops running. When i press the trigger, the motor goes forwards and backwards (but the car doesn't move).

I first thought about a thermal shutdown system but the temp of the ESC and motor seems ok. My radio system seems ok too.

Any idea to solve this ? I read that it may come from the connectors between the ESC and the motor. Is that true ?

Thanks fot the help.

Cheers.

I had this same problem in my ZX-5. Called Castle, they told me to ditch the gold connectors, shorten as much as possible & hard wire the ESC to motor wires. Runs like a bat outta hell now!!!!

Well I was bored this morning and was reading on here about the setup for 4 cells so thought I'd setup my Mamba Max 7700 in my CRC3.2r.

It was pretty easy to do. I did what Joe recommended and pulled the + wire from the ESC plug then I soldered a + and - lead to plug into the Batt plug on the reciever.

I double checked everything and hooked up the battery. Servo came to life...turned on the power to the ESC and everything powered up....ESC went threw it's setup.....all works awsome.

Now I can't wait to try it outside...here's a few pics of the install. And one of the club track I race at.

Need to fix up the wiring abit.

Beast 95451, thanks for your quick answer.

I really appreciate. I'm gonna sleep well tonight

Anyway, I don't understand why Castle Crations sells the Mamba max with pre-soldered connectors that aren't reliable.

Cheers.

I just put a 7700 in my MF2 and it keeps blowing the spur and slipper apart...it's fast as hell while it's running though.

I solder all of my motors directly to the ESC. I run touring car so this makes it easy. For offroad just solder the wires together and heat shrink. A little bit more trouble but in the long run you will be much happier.

It was fun but don't hit the walls as it would rip parts off the cars. It was really fun right after the track was sprayed with WD as they really fast then.

Crash

Do you know of anyone trying the Mamba Max in a 12th scale yet? Any input would be great.

I ran this system in my T2 all indoor season and it was ballistic....and yes I could drive it. Won the club TC mod series.
