Castle Creations Mamba/MM/MMM FACTORY Q&A thread!

The 3 flashing LEDs means the ESC is not seeing a signal from the receiver. It's either due to the wires pulling off the pads (wyd's recommendation), or it's the receiver itself. Check the crystal and receiver to see if it works with another setup, or try another receiver with this ESC. Either way will let you know which is having the problem.

take a voltmeter and 'ohm the 3 rx wires. that or use the continuity 'beep' that most good meters have. check all 3 wires and see if u get continuity across all 3 (to make sure 1 didnt break inside the sheath). be sure when ur checkin to also test the other ends to make sure u dont have a short and its jumpin across the wires at 1 pt.
just somethin to try when dealin with wire

the brown reciver wire broke inside the insulation where the wires enter the speed controller, soldered it up, and it works like new! Thx for the help!

good to hear, if it needs to be replaced in time. then send it in and they'll take care of it. real good. as in the 'N' brand would charge you more than the price of a new 1 to take care of it the way they do.

I am trying to install the castle link software for my Mamba Monster ESC and when it gets to the end of the install it gives me an error
"There is a problem with the Windows installer package. A Program required for this install could not be run. ....."
Any ideas or help would be great...
I have an HP runnng on Windows Vista. It is fully updated.
I have tried installing from the included CD and from the Castle website.
Thanks

hi guys I have a question I have a TC5 running modified class at our local track here in san diego I have mamba max and 7700kv motor and 5000 2s lipo 20c. I'm geared 13 pinion 87 spur after the total of 5 minute race with 1 minute warm up I temp my motor and ESC motor and ESC is at mid 150's am I in the right set up? is my pinion too small or too big and can I install a fan on top of ESC? which fan can I install?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Geared at 9.02.... two small clamp on heat sinks on motor and 40mm fan on speedo, Motor temp 200* speedo 185*. I was using 6000 lipo's (2cell limit) and in a 170' strait I can pull them coming in but they get me on the big end, sometimes.
Now my MM 7700 can do this all day long day after day, the 3.5's are smoking motors and speedo's to keep up. I think with the 9000 I can run cooler and go faster then with the 7700. I love Mod racing and always have.
