Batteries for 1/8 scale truggy?
#46
Great! Well.. I will keep my 5400-40C SC backorder (2 packs) since I really want to run these 2 new RC8Ts. I will then either sell them or use them for practice. I will be getting 6 or 8 packs of the hard case!
The 5200/40C hardcase packs that will fit the AE will happen but I'm not sure when they will be ready and I'm not going to give a date as many hold me to this date. It's all about getting the new case tooling done. At the moment the tooling for the 5400/40C hardcase is being started on and then I guess the 5200 hardcase will be started.

Fingers crossed! Hope you receive shipment this weekend, and Stormer can receive / ship them out next week. Doubt I will have them for next week's race, but at least I will have plenty of time to setup the truggies correctly and practice for next race.

Danny I am trying to figure out which of your packs to buy for my 8t I am either going 4s/5400/40 or 2s/6000/28 x2. I run 2s/5400/24 x2 right now and I have to have my speed control turned to the low timing to be able to get it to run 15min. so I am trying to figure out which would be better for longer run time as I may have to race longer than 15 min and I have to stop but not long enough to change Batterys. I am trying to get to 20-25 min with speed control on normal. And what is the size difference between the 5400 and the 6000 and maybe the 9000? Thanks Jason

From what I understand making 15 minutes with a 4S pack is pretty tough on certain tracks. The problem is most of the cars are overpowered and use motors that aren't as efficient. To run 25 minutes you would need to run our 9000 but you would need 2 in series and I really don't know where you could fit them plus the extra weight would most likely hurt the handling. Typically most racers don't want to run anything heavier than a 5400 or so. From what I understand you can gain runtime by going to a 6S pack and using a very mild motor. I reccomend you ask some questions on this site in the 1/18th electric thread. This will help you make the proper decisions.

Don't expect a 5400 to run much longer than a 5200 at most you would get 1 extra minute. From what I have read it's hard to do 15 minutes or more on a 4S pack with a fast motor. This is why electric only 8th scale classes will most likely run for 10 minutes to keep runtime from being an issue.
