Thanks for the wealth of battery information you bring to this board. It is much appreciated.

I have ordered an RC8T with AE electric conversion kit and need to get some batteries. I will be running the MMM/2200kv combo. I already have an SMC 7.4v 24c 5200mah that I run in my Slash and I love it. I am wondering what the difference would be between running two of these 2S SMCs in series as opposed to running one of your new 4S softpacks that are coming out soon. Will there be a significant dropoff using two 2S in series? I would prefer 2x2S so I could use the batteries in my Slash and possibly an SC10 in my future. Thanks in advance for the info.

Glad to hear our packs are doing well in your Slash.

I don't see any issues with running 2 packs in series. Some don't want to go this route due to the chance of the packs not having the same capacity or having to buy 2 chargers or a Duo charger.

Also some think you need high C rate packs in this class and I understand the reasoning behind this as many have had issues with cycle life in this class. I personally think the poor cycle life is attributed to false C rate claims which seems to be common or packs built with low end materials to save on cost. I'm pretty confident our 24C , 28C and 40C packs will have good cycle life in this class.

I know you have expressed lately about releasing hard case packs for Truggies, but I just found out that I need hard-cased battery packs to run on ROAR approved races.

Any plans on releasing a 4s-40C-5400mAh-14.8v hard-case, or you are still debating? I think it would be a hit if you release this, because everyone planning on racing these events needs them... and 14.8 would be great!

We do have a 4S/5400/40C+ hardcase pack in the works. We hope to have them available by the middle of April.

Wanted to get a pack so I can run it for the first time this wee until you release the hardcasekend, but I don't want to spend money on a battery I will not use then...
Perhaps I can get a 4S/5400/40C+ softcase pack for practice? :)

Actually, those are the ones I was thinking about getting.. in the meantime. Heck, I also bought 2 x Hyperion 610i Net and 2 x LRP power supplies... I just need to make sure they fit in the AE electric conversion kit. (RC8T)

I noticed these comes with Deans connectors... I have two chargers... no problem, but how do I connect them as one to my ESC? (Sorry for the newbie question.. I just got back to RC racing after a few years retirement)

Yes, and I would recommend getting a tap adapter made up to balance them as a 4S if you run them in series in the vehicle.
