It seems alot of Racers are dusting off their 1/10 pan cars and starting classes. I loved Pan Car back in the 90's I just want to know what you think about this class and could it come back. Speak out !!!

i think its agreat idea. i have just gotten back into r/c this last year and was suprised to see no one running 1/10 pan car. back in the day magazines like r/c car action was full of nothing but 10L's and Bolink Eliminators from cover to cover. whts even more suprising is that people would rather run sedans. sedans cant even come close to the speed and performance of a well set up 10L2. the one advantage sedans do have is you can run hem any where. a 1/10 pa ar is definatly not suited to the smaller indoor tracks popping up every where.you need a large track. i have got mine standing by,untill then i will be happy to run my 1/2 .

As I said on the other thread- 1/10th narrow car with 4 cells stock or 19t and touring car body(195 or 200mm).My Scorpion is ready down here in Florida.

I too would love to see them become popular again. They would be a great compliment to my 1/12 scales.

Hopefully they will make a mini comeback and then some companies will start making some nice bodies for them...

Can you imagine if a company like Protoform made a 1/10 scale version of the new Bentley????

Wicked-looking bodies alone might attract some people to 1/10 scale pan car - think of how many flames you can paint on one of these!!!

I think this class is more challenging than touring, don't get me wrong I love touring cars
but their needs to be some sort of change.
plus I love the way GTP bodies look.

I always disliked the 1/10th scale pan cars quite a bit, let the sedans continue to be 1/10th scale TCs and help make 1/12th scale popular again if you like pancars.

I don't care to see touring car bodies on them but I would support any pan car class, they just make more sense than a 5 pound 4wd brick driving around a flat track with a few feet of shock travel if taken to scale. Pan cars own!!!

When a new Racer sees 1/10 pan for the first time they get really stoked and wants to buy one. Light weight, simple and fast Rock On!!

I just dug out my Associated RC10L3T team out of my closet.... My LHS just opened a carpet track.

Im not sure how popular the 190mm (touring) pan car is/was but I've had alot of fun with it. Its fast...and takes mad skill to drive.

Anyone else with these things?

EDIT BTW- Does anyone know if there are 190mm ford GT40 bodies out there?

I've almost finished making my own design 190mm pan car. Will see how it goes against 4wd cars..

In the summer I race 1/10 pan car in the touring car class on black top. I spent a good part of the summer finding rear traction, once I did, I had the most fun time racing AND the lowest lap time in stock class. Now I have found a carpet track that will allow me to run it inside in road course. I absolutly love it. I have had a couple of people say " let me try that" but they try to drive it like a sedan and they crash. It takes more skill to drive a pan car than an touring car.

I like em because they are simple, fast, and inexpensive to maintain. My son races with me. I am buying an RC10L2 and converting it to a 2.5 as in 3 rear shocks like the L3, but it will be 230mm wide and WIDER IS BETTER.

I run pancar in a very competitive, but still very friendly racing series here in Holland, the ICC (Inter Club Competition). I can race at a very high level, with a very small budget. Hey, I'm still a student! 190mm pancars sound like fun, but a wide one is faster, easier to work on (more space) and easier to drive. I like 1/12th scale too, especially for indoor racing during the winter. Outdoors, pro 10 is a very very good alternative for touring. I can afford running pro 10 competitively, but not touring!

Go ROAR for putting the class in for at least an exhibition race at the 2004 USA nat's at Cleveland!

We did run them with several body styles. The first year we tired the Protoform Porsche GT1 and the narrow Bolink Porsche GTP. The second year we went to Touring car bodies.The narrow car does work quite well (10L3t).We raced them both outdoors and on carpet. I wish they would come back soon asI would rather give up TC and go back to just pan cars!I still race 1/12th(at least that hasn't died).

Where can you find bodies for these cars, I'd love to find a Protoform Porsche 911GT1 (if you have one at your LHS give me a PM, I'll buy it!).

Our local Asphalt track is going to race them this year. I'm looking forward to it. My 10L3T team just got put together and will be ready.

4 cells, stock motors...can't wait!
