I would love to see them make a return as well.. back in the day that's all we ever ran. I had a 10L and 10L superspeedway. I remember right before I dropped out of R/C, Trinity made a new pancar - I think it was named the reflex10 or evolution .. something along those lines.

David you are 100% correct. We loved pan cars here in SA. I miss that type of racing. When you think of the power to weight ratio with the motors and batt's now, 10 scale pan cars would be great......

Heck I might even start turning right and left if there was a 10th scale pan car class still...

4 cell 19 turn would be really fun...

I remember the days of GTP racing...Nissan, Toyota, Jags etc. battleing it out across the country.
It would be great for Pro10 cars to make a comeback. AE 10L was my first road car...it was fun to drive. I had better luck racing Pro10 than racing sedans...
I still have an Andy's Jag body waiting to be painted to it's original Castrol colors. and still have some old-school McAllister
Nissan and Castrol decals as well...

4 cell 19 turn should be a tick faster then 6 cell stock... Fun is in the fact that it's a little easier to drive and less likely to wind up in a pile of twisted/powedered graphite along side the boards where I hit...

Seriously... 6 cell would be way out of control for most of us mere mortals. I think that's why the class disapeared for the most part.

6 cell with today stock motors is going to be blindingly fast.
We are not Hara or Masami...
4 cell and 19T would be fun and keep cost down...

One of the reasons 1/10th disappeared was due to the speeds, the cars were beginning to airfoil on the straights if they hit a small pebble or bump. They were going over 45mph and a car flying towards the crowd gets crazy. That is one reason as to why 4 cell may be a great alternative. I would race that class and 1/12th while dropping touring all together.

Most of the tracks I've run at have an "if x of you show up, we'll have a class" rule. The best way to bring this class back is to get a few guys together and run them. I hope this doesn't turn into another "let's bring back 4wd mod" type of thing.

Given that... Maybe 4 cell 19 turn would still be too fast... The lighter car would likely blow over at speed even more so then it did with 6 cell stock...

I do beleive that 19 turn 4 cell would be almost eactly the same speed as six cell stock, if not just a little faster.

I just hate stock motors... Pehaps have a full stack hand wound 27 turn motor... This would eliminate my objections to stock motors. (inconsistant due to machine winds and ever changing due to no restriction on the number of lamminations and/or arm design parameters.

Hey, I was reading your post and it reminded me of something. I figure if there is a U.S. Touring Car Championships (the 2004 was completed back at S&N Trackside in January), why not have something like a U.S. Road Course Championships for the pan cars? Run 1/12, Pro 10, Pan Touring with GTP bodies, etc...
