just got the call, my bmi 350 xray is shipping today. Boy, i think jason's chassis are a big hit. That was like 3+weeks. But worth the wait. Now I can finally put my t1fk together.

I'm really thinking about racing at WC this weekend. Do you have a EasyUp if you go? If so I would leave mine at home this week and just help put yours up. I have side panels though.

I'm racing, and I'll have my EasyUp. You can pit with me no problem. We'll have a blast. Give me a ring on the nextel.

Yay!

Hey guys, found something for those who run their BMI on the road, or inside carpet might be interested in. We all know that we dont want to ruin our nice investment so this chasis protective sheet might help.

-It's about 1mm thick. Pretty easy to put on. One tip though, have a sharp hobby knife to cut this stuff with, as you see mine was a little dull, so it looks a little messed up, but its worth the protection it gives in the long run. If you have already put your chassis together, cutting everything out will be a pain, if you just got yours, and its not put together yet, put the film on first, of course there will be stuff to cut out, but like were the screws go to save time and fustration, just make a little hole or cut, and tuck some of it under the screw.

-Any way the stuff is made by Team associated, and the part number is 6312.

-Just something to think about for those who want to add some protection to quality work.

Using this stuff is great for protecting the underside of the chassis. However, keep in mind that your settings may be slightly off with the added thickness of the chassis protector. The car will appear to be lower to the ground, with the underside bottoming out more. If you compensate for the thickness then you should be good.

Allow me asking a maybe stupid question:

Is that possible to use carbon fiber plat on 200mm GP chassis? I know it might break into pieces in crashing. But if we don't consider crashing problem, how thickness it required to get enough strength for 200mm GP?

If you have 200mm GP with carbon fiber chassis. Please post link so I can have an eye-opening..

ttso-the problem isnt the breakage amuch as that the motor depends on using the entire chassis as a heat sink. Without it-youd have to run your motor so rich to compensate-youd have no horsepower. Having said that-I have seens a few serpent Carbon fiber chassis in my day-but never heard if any of them were actually used.

You would also have a considerable amount of flex in the car with a carbon plate vs alum. With so much flex, the car is completely different with the high probability of chassis failure.
