Losi XXX-S

I personally wouldnt car about the color of the hardware. My car is perfect with different colored things. I have blue and red on my car, just because I get what I can afford. Have you guys decided on a price yet. I am kind of on a limited budget, but I really would like to know of a price and maybe a weight too. I know nobody else does this, but a stress test would be awesome.

Um, duh. . . I just realized the hardware that you need is already there, on the car!
The only thing you would need to get that isn't stock would be a few 4-40 nuts... And if you need to space out your rear upper shock mounts, just add another 4-40 nut on there.
I'll let you guys know the shock tower pricing any day now.

The new chassis with the dual steering post positions is retooled to provide more support for the battery. There are raised edges on the outside of the slots to help retain the batteries in a crash.
Danny- I would start with a good really high-bite setup for rubber tires on asphalt - like pl's from the nat's...then maybe go a step stiffer to suit the traction.

Danny: Do you already have the tires or do you want guidance on that too? Also what sort of track will you be racing on, is it dusty parking lot or is it smooth and with good bite. I have several setups so let me know a little more and I can definitely get you hooked up.

I'm looking at buying something new to replace my Yokomo SP, if I bought a XXX-S, what sort of spares should I get at the same time?
Any other things you'd recommend buying?
Cheers.

Simon, giving the up the Yok.... I think I have a fever!

Simon~if you don't have a good set of hex wrench then it's good to get when you get the xxxs, other than that the car is good to go in stock form.

Mark, I've sold it already. I'll be picking your brain in the very near future...
My old YZ10 went the same week so I've got enough spare money to buy something "Brand New"!
I was keen on either the X-Ray Evo 2 or XXX-S, having my own spares for both will be the challenge as they aren't carried locally and the Losi is still fairly rare in NZ.
Might be buying Offshore(due to being"Out of stock"), anyone recommend somewhere to look?

Simon.....I am on the Gold Coast in Australia and have a xxxs.I found Sheldon Hobbies in San Jose the best place to get stuff.I also got a full graphite kit....It worked out about $20 more than buying all the spares I thought I would need. The Losi is awesome...Just get the bloody thing and you will find out.
PS run it stock settings then if you need to then change it.
PPS I also had a yok before the XXXS.

Barger,
Thanks for that, Sheldons was the first place I looked at today, as it happened.
I priced up the kit, Graphite conversion, tuning springs and some MIP CVD's(although I may get some Lunsford turnbuckles instead). I forgot about the threaded shock bodies so I'll have to factor them i too.
I'm pretty keen, I used to have a XX when I raced offroad so I'm no "Losi Virgin"

Simon, I think the Losi comes with MIP CVD's.

I have both front and rear on my cars and have yet to break one. Depending on how often you hit or how hard to hit breaking them could become an issue though. If you hit a lot and break a lot of front a-arms you can always get the rear and leave the metal ones up front.
