And those Losi screws had a lot of Loctite on them and you had to really kong them to get them out.

just curious what sort of issues ppl are having with Loctite?
if it ain't locking as it should... have they RTFM??
Threads should be degreased & loctite takes 4-6hrs to anarobic cure,
wipe threads with motorspray & i'll leave it unstresed for 24hrs if i can.
when at track... i don't bother with loctite for instant grab,
i use shoegoo (especially hot areas) or CA during pit repairs.
Loctite releases with heat, so even the red stuff is weak for engine screws.
Use a solvent type of loctite (gooey Tamiya Threadlock) or shoegoo.
Spillage? you can buy Loctite(tm) in a gluestick style
More often than not... its RC builders who have overtorqued your tiny screws
to beyond the metal's stretch point; when the shank is no longer elastic
the screw will never hold tight again & forever keeps backing out.
And take a tip from 1:1 cars... if there's screws that must never come out,
have a second mechanical way of locking them. Serrated or castlelated nuts;
for flat chassis bottom could be as simple as a strip of gaffertape or
scratchprotect film - stops all those flatheads moving until you want them to.
(when we build to 'enduro' spec, where its gotta last 3/4/5hrs not 6mins)

My screws have a 0 min cure time and when they are inserted they can be removed and screwed back in over a 100 times. Militray/Aerospace tested and approved. The stuff on these screws is way better than loctite. The proof will be in the testing! I'm sure they will live up too and way beyond the current solutions on the market today. Also, it won't eat the plastic like loctite or make it brittle.

yes, the same chemical adhesive is used on all laptops, iphones, blackberry's etc..It has been proven on those devices already in plastic with no problems.

If the tests go well..I'll be adding screws which will be able to handle the heat issues without losing the ability to hold like the motor screws. The technology has been around for several years in use by the military, automotive, aerospace, NASA, and other areas but it has never been introduced to the R/C market until now. The closest it has come was the use on the drones or UAV's but not commercially in R/C.

I haven't had to disassemble my iphone yet! But I hear what you are saying about the plastic screw wells.

I hope your not using that same stuff that was causing all the Apple workers in China to get really sick and never be able to work again?
#26

Screw Tests
To all:
Hopefully everyone who requested the screws for testing has received them by now. Also, I was wondering if anyone has any test results from the screws and locking ability of the compound.
Thanks,
Tim

Screw Kits are now on the site
The screw kits are posted on my website for a few of the TRAXXAS electric trucks and the SC10. I'll be adding more trucks and cars as well as titanium screws in both metric and standard sizes. Currently, there will be about a 1-2 week lead time on the kits. If you have a kit not listed on the site, shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] and I will add it for you and send you the pricing. The prices are a little higher than I wanted to list them at but keep in mind you won't be replacing screws for a very long time with these kits. In fact, they will probably last the entire life of the vehicle.
Thanks,
Tim
