The GPX-4 is a great handling car. But concentrate on loosening up the drivetrain.

Default Slick Track Diff Oils for GPX 4 RTR

I just got this car RTR version and am setrting it up for a medium slick parking lot 75 x 100 with 85 ft straight and tight turns. I have 4 gear diffs in both ends and a couple of questions. Yellow springs front and blue in rear.

Common sense says start with 3,000 in both but after reading some of this post, i'm questioning that decision.

On my CD3, I'm running 3,000 rr & 10,000 frt with 40 wt and yellow springs all around. Power is a Jammin .12 on foams. (38 frt & 45 rr)

1. What weight shock oil is a start point for this condition of track?

2. What Diff oils are reccemmended for frt and rear?

3. Any reccommended starting points on foam tires Track temps are between 85 and 145 F?

Later

Phil

Hi,
I run this car in RTR (pullstart class) in Oz and I run:

Shocks: 40wt oil in shocks all round

Diffs: 0K rear diff/100K front (acts similar to a spool)

Springs: Hobao/Ofna yellow front/Mugen purple rear

Tires Jaco (Nitro shoes) 38 front/Jaco (Nitro shoes) 40 rears (I true the front tires 2mm smaller than the rears when new as the rears wear much quicker)

Most of the time setup is trial and error and by feel.

Did you modify the hole in the shock piston? I found 40wt too thick with that small shock hole.

What size do you need to drill the hole to? Is there different pistons we can purchase?

If you back track this thread, the best information on the car came from a guy from France. He has 2 1.2mm holes in each piston. You enlarge the .8mm hole to 1.2mm and then drill another 1.2mm hole. I have not found any aftermarket pistons.

What do you run for rear camber? I had to go to -3deg. to get even tire wear, or else the outer edges wear down too fast.

Hi,
Not sure what I have got I have not had it on the setup station for a while I just adjusted to get even tire wear like you said. I am also looking at testing some Kyosho rear uprights/hubs so I will let you know how that goes.......
