Have you tried mounting the ball stud on the underneath of the knuckle instead of on top. I am planning on doing this as the car has a lot of bump steer in the stock configuration.
Has anyone else tried adjusting the ride height at the front end of the car? I lowered the front of the chassis by rearranging the spacers on the king pins and it really through the steering links up to a steep angle. The result was major bump steer. I was thinking of using the shorter/smaller servo horn but I know this will change the ackerman. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions?

I've looked at trying to mount the ball stud on the bottom side, this is exactly what I have on my F103. If you do this with the F104 the steering links rub on the lower a-arms.
The only option I can see is using the smaller servo horn with F103 ball studs attached to it. It might not be so bad when the tires are cut smaller and I can raise the chassis, but for kit size tires and lowering the chassis this is a BIG problem.

Body Pods
Hiya
Was wondering if there was any advantage to installing the body pods?
They look to have a tight fit onto the body sides and around the chassis bottom plate.
I havnt seem these before are they for aerodynamics?
Cheers

Does anyone know where I can get a tire truer arbor that will fit both the F-104 wheels and a Hudy tire truer?

Which is exactly what I did. Just drill out the hole so you can use the kit ball studs. The small Kimbrough servo saver will also work.
Depending on the servo you use, you may need to mount the servo back further in the chassis and put the ball studs on the front of the saver.
The long servo saver allows to much bump steer no matter what ride height you run. I've only done a couple of shake down runs in front of the house, but the difference was noticable after I made the change.

Hey just out of curiosity where is everyone getting those cool blue hop-bits from? In particular the motor mount?
I've looked at a few sites but can't seem to find them.

Hey PDR,
Thanks for the pictures and your reply.
Just one question: does your ESC and motor get hot after you run for a pack?
I'm not so comfortable with a GTB not having its fan around. It thermalled on me once when I run it at a bigger track on my F103GT. I don't want that to happen again.

Thanks for that guys. I am about to get the car so I just need to confirm what to get and what not to get with it. Now as far as blue bling goes what should I get as in what comes with the kit and what doesn't. I'm not bothered as to whether it will improve handling or not. I just want to hop up the car. So far my list is as follows:
54159 F104 Aluminum Horn for Hi-Torque Servo Saver
54166 F104 Aluminum Motor Mount (Right & Left)
54169 F104 Aluminum Pivot Post
84058 F104 Titanium Screw Set
54161 F104 Low Friction Suspension Ball Set - I'm not sure whether this already comes with the kit or not, can someone please confirm.
54158 F104 Aluminum Diff Housing Set - I'm not sure whether this already comes with the kit or not, can someone please confirm.
Also can anyone tell me if the 3Racing Servo Mount for the F103Rm will fit in the F104?
What do you guys think? Anything else?

The drive hex off of the left side of the axle will fit over the threads on the Hudy truer. Just tighten the grub screw down and go to work on the rears.
Otherwise D-Drive Sports has arbors from Eagle racing for about $25
