Edit, I think I have the weight wrong, I believe I'm @ 55.5oz.
This is what im doing for both of my vehicles with some good finishes, my truck and buggy run about 2.5 oz over with 1.5 oz in the back.

I've got 1oz. behind the rear bulkhead and 2.5oz along the right side of the battery both to add weight and offset the weight of the GTB on the other side.

You will also find that BL motors, especailly the milder ones (8.5 through 17.5) like to be geared tall. They actually gain bottom end with taller gearing because they react well to the load. Be careful no to go too far, you will want to watch motor temps.

I run a 10.5 geared 25/81 and that's actually pretty low for that motor.
Thank you very much! That was the kind of info I was looking for!

I'm currently gearing a 10.5 at 26/81 as of last week. Didn't know you could go that high but man what a difference! May go higher tomorrow in club racing.

I have tried that setup from wild cherry awhile back and still found the car handled better at nimh weight especially on slippery or bumpy tracks.

I run Murfdogg motors which are trinity based.

A good starting point;

On the T4 Try 78/28 and temp.
On the B4 I really like 76/34 The 76 is a Kyosho spur with the white pads.

AE is going to release a 72 and 75 spur any day now so the Kyosho spur will not be needed.

Surprizingly Cool, 145

with a 17.5 we run 65/33 to 69/32 depending on the track and they are good.

Thanks What up

Just as I thought, geared to the moon!!! I don't have any pinions that big. I have the 78 spur. I hope AE releases the new spur gears before Midwest Champs @ CRCRC.

No offense to Murfdogg motors. But what exactly is he doing to tune a brushless motor? About the only potential that I see is 1. Testing to make sure it's not a dud. 2. Replacing the bearings with ceramics (which I doubt they're doing)

Would be interested in knowing.
