Anybody bringing their 416 to IIC?
Pretty much it seems. I think the only place I've seen drivers using the standard LWT arms now is with foams on carpet, everywhere else it's the short arms.

Dunno about the IIC...

Anyway, bit delayed but a short update from the weekend. Was forced to run 27t stock for the first time in a long while, and really wasn't in the mood to race (splitting from the gf on saturday really didn't help my state of mind ). As such, I decided instead of stripping the car down to completely change the setup, I'd just take the 10.5 setup and make a few tweaks to get it good enough...

I did try the C/C on the front with the 10.5 though in practise, and certainly seemed good to drive. Whilst it gave more front end, it did seem to lack a little in terms of mid corner. I would have tried C/B... but, well, I was lacking motivation to make huge changes
I also went back to the softer rear roll bar, given the nature of the track (lots of quick switch backs), which helped to control the rear of the car in the transitions.
In the end to get the mid-corner back, I went back to D/C on the front. Not ideal, but was good enough for me to take TQ and the win (after having figured out I was way overgearing the motor... opps). The tyres I was using were a little knackered as well (can you tell I haven't raced in a while?) but the car seemed to come alive towards the end of the day, setting 7 of the 10 fastest laps in the finals.
Shame I didn't really enjoy it more, but it was good to get back on track.

Cheerrz Ed on the offer of the pivot balls.I got some ordered from brock models so all is well.
Sorry to hear about your bad news at the weekend.
Nevermind though EH! you,ll have more time on your hands! just dont burn out your trigger reflexes
Also do you have any ideas why tamiya arent firing TRF416 kits out the door with them being in such high demand.
I missed the one on ebay.

Mine are around the other way. Just like the rears were. Man I'm having a shocker with these reversable arms

What gearing are you guys using with your 10.5s? I'm ditching mod at club level and going to 10.5 lipo, just wondering where I should start

Speaking of gearing, I have converted Ed's gearing spreadsheet for 48 pitch and included rubber tyre rollout. I'll post it tomorrow on thard.co.uk

Out of our thread serpent boy!

There have been rumours of an updated version with spool and aluminium screws around for a few months but apart from a short supply of 416s nothing has come of it. Considering I have the spool, ti screws, short arms, and a few other bling bits I wouldnt say MY 416 will be superceded by any new model... and if it is I'll buy all those bits too

Seriously, it is ashame that the 416 is not supported in Australia, otherwise i would probably get one. Now, if only Mugen made an EP.
