Get the TA03 diff if you have a choice.... good luck.

can someone verify this? is this the only difference?

Thanks,

yes, its heavier. Also, the TA03 is stronger. The teeth in the pressure plates are stronger than manta ray's.

Thanks,

The exact differences
Gear width: Manta has a wide gear (about 16mm), TA03 comes with a narrower gear (about 8mm)

Pressure plates: Manta has a heavier pressure plate, TA03 has a lighter pressure plate.

Thrust bearing: Manta I think you build a thrust bearing, TA03 comes with a one piece thrust bearing.

Pressure plate , drive cup, plate. Manta is splined, TA03 is a hex (much stronger.

I would also recomend the TA03 diff.

Speaking of hop-ups, I just built an Alfa box-stock except for a full bearing set. Is there as much benefit to the ball-diff in the rwd cars as the Mini? How about the universal shafts--is there as much benefit to the upgraded pieces since the wheels aren't steering? Do the universals even fit?

Thanks,

Scottrik
SERIOUSLY infected with this little car disease...thanks to you guys

Ball Diff is more critical than in an M03. My M03's I run gear diffs.
Universals are not a requirment, but I think it is a little smoother in the corner.
If you can the M03M susp parts makes the care more nimble. Only thing the heatsink is added weight, but it can be offsetting weight. I don't run it,though. Oil shocks are required.

Default M04

hi,

no need for ball diff nor universals in mo4,,,, spend your money on ball bearings, oil shocks, tuned springs (part 5333)

hard springs front (blue), softest springs rear (orange),,,, that should be good,,, for asphalt maybe s grip front, type A rear,,,

for carpet,,, s or m grip,,,,

enjoy

Default Shock ends

Does anyone have a part number to replace the ball ends going to the susp. arm for the plastic mini shocks? I've seen two listed, but can't tell the difference between the two. Thanks

This year My (the winning M04M) car at the North American TCS finals did not like the gear diff. it was much smoother through the corner with a ball diff, I also noticed the car was inconcistant with the gear diff.
