Just finished building my M05 (non-Pro) and installing the electronics. The building process was straight forward and I'm pleased with the results.

All of my electronics fit well, but the battery terminals to my Orion battery packs are covered by the M05 battery holder.

I'm sure others are using the Orion or similar batteries. How do I make the battery terminals accessible?

Some of the Asian on line stores have some of them but not all like the steering upgrades.

Are you using the Orion 2400/3200 round lipo packs? If so, just slide the battery all the way up against the battery holder and the two holes for the plugs are accessible enough to use two banana plugs.

Use the old style battery holder parts from an M-03. They fit like they belong there.

madjack,

I agree with subaru73, the new Tamiya MO5 parts will be released in December, confirmed by an E-mail from RC-Champ last night. They will not take pre-orders at this time.

Regards,

Calvin.

Thanks guys. I'll take a closer look at the battery fitment and your suggestions. I was pretty tired when I finished building and installing the electronics and my brain was probably running on empty.

BTW, yes I am using the Orion 2400 packs with the rounded edges.

You should look into the Li-po stick packs by Orion the fit perfect and they come in 25C. Great pack.http://www.speedtechrc.com/store/ebp...id=786&id=8862

Interesting. I had not seen that Orion pack configuration before. The only problem I can see is that I would need a different type of balance connector for my charger.

Thanks for that link.

Do you know if the Orions use the same balance tap as Reedy Lipos? I have an Equinox balancer using these leads http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNGC6&P=7 to charge my Reedy lipos currently.

Thanks for that link.
I use to balance my li-po years ago but then I stopped because you really don't need to. I never had a problem with my packs and always store them at 80% or whenever your charger reads 8.40

If you have a hard case pack then yes they are different. I believe the orion packs have a kokam connecter.
