one more thing, the wheels do not hit anything.

yellow porous rectangle, I noticed the same thing when I built mine. Everything felt smooth, but the belt definately bounced. After a few runs on the track, it's not as bad, but still does it some. I don't know if it's just the angle of the pullys in relation to each other, or the belt itself, or what, but it doesn't seem to hurt anything on the track.
Think you'll be at TCHR on Wednesday? I hope to make it, have to try some stuff out.

Has anyone taken a bicycle wheel, spun it really fast, and while holding it by the axle tried to turn it a different direction? The gyro effect isn't that different for what a TC might experience.
That is where the load originates from, causing the belt to mediate between the power supplied and the resistance offered by the wheels turning off its original axis. Running the car off the surface on a car stand is a dramatic way of witnessing the unavoidable inefficientcy of the drivetrains mechanical physics. 1:1 scale cars are affected the same way.
Are you using a tensioner, I experienced less bounce with a tensioner.

This is just theory buy try both locking the topshaft one-way and then running it freely and seeing if that makes a difference. You also might be experiencing a slight on-power/off-power change which tensions and de-tensions the front belt. That would of course change when the car is on the racetrack as well.
Also, how far were you turning the wheels?

The wierd thing is that it only does it when the wheels are turned. When they are straight its perfectly smooth. I'm not going to worry about.

Unbeatable huh???
Just joking with you Dave. The Losi has managed to put 1 in the loss column for you, now I'll have to do it with the TC3
For anyone who doesn't know Dave, he has a very good understanding of the performance changes setup tweaks will do to the car. He knows, because he spends allot of time working on setup which shows up in his results.
Just remeber, you can run but you can't hide....bwah ha ha ha
Team AE Rulz or something like that...

Hey everyone.
On a tight carpet track, what kind of tires do you guys use/recommend? I was thinking CS22 with the default inserts or the Take-off medium hard inserts? I would like excellent traction but not at the cost of a very short lifespan of the tire. I am using white springs all around. Thanks

spongebob, I had problems too. I got it figured out though and everything works. mytsn.com has been slow since I started going there. Try it again, I'm sure you can get it to work.

It takes a few days for your registration to go through. You should get an email from tsn in a few days.
