d4man,
the engine in my gas truck is a nova black pixxie with the gold head.
it was supposavely just broken in with a few laps in a sprinter.
i tiook it out of the sprinter and put it in my losi xxxnt.
it will idle fine but dogs out trying to throttle it...
ive tride all the little hints and things that i do know but cant figure it out.my next solution is that there is an air leak somewhere...
i hope i find it shortly though...

OK, it idles but sounds like crap when you give it gas? When was it run last and who broke it in? In this hot weather, you have to lean them out. Since the high speed needle feeds the carb, adjust the high end needle first, then adjust the low end. Dont try to adjust needles without any load on them (like on the starter box). Adjust the high end until she runs crisp at the top end. Yeah, check for air leaks.

The Mod Truck class will be coming back starting this week and building bigger next week, so all you electric guys, please come back and check us out.
There is also a Gas Truck / CRT.5 class forming. There should be a CRT on display this week and I know there are gas trucks out there - bring em back out!

Morris - Was it taken apart to check the internals? If so maybe the piston is in backwards. I accidentally did that once a couple months ago
and the engine did exactly as you described. I always take some O2 sensor safe sealant and go over any leak points before even starting a new engine. You didn't mention if it was on a box or not. If it's on the ground and bogging check your clutch. I ran gas truck a few weeks (years ago before racing scale) but have one of those 2 shoe MIP clutches with the dual wrap around spring (not sure if they still make them). One of those springs gave way and it would idle but bogged out when hitting the gas.
Is there definitely going to be a class then? I can put the electronics in and check everything over tomorrow. Hopefully the track will be in better early morning shape than last week because I definitely need some tuning time.
