12th scale at BCR is continuing to grow, slowly, but growing.. .
I wish the 18r's would take off, now that is a great class. Modified 18r's are just as fast as TC Foam Mod. . $160.00 with $100.00 upgrade and you capable of running in the TC Foam class. But Skillz are required.

12th is intense and laid back at the same time. People who are dedicated to RC and join 12th choose which way they take the class, and are able to do either.
These are the only explanations I can see for why 12th survives, but Pro-10 and F1 has come, and gone. 12th doesn't seem to follow any 'rules' about what is in the shops, where cars can be run, or how easy/difficult it is to set up - 12th just is, and has been for over 30 years.

I think 1/12 is plenty popular right now and keeps getting bigger look at Cleveland their are 4 different classes of 1/12 that all have ABCD or more mains

And how much simpler can it be? I remove ONE 8-32 nut and loosen one 4-40 cap screw and suddenly I have access to all my rear wheel bearings AND my diff bearings. A single 4-40 nut on either side and I've got my front bearings out. I can have 'em ALL serviced and re-installed in less than the time it took to do wheel bearings at two corners on my TCs. Fuggedabout the diff bearings.
Plus I can be a total moron and break something...if it takes more than 3-4 easy to get at screws to fix it's unusual. I don't think there's anything that I'd actually have to touch 6 screws to fix, 'least not that gets broken. I can build a new CRC car in the time it used to take me to fix something down inside the TC like a diff outdrive cup, or whatever.
In short, someone on another thread best summed up 1/12. Why has it lasted so long and been so popular among those who pursue the passion? BECAUSE YOU WEREN'T THERE TO SCREW IT UP!!

honestly,i feel 1/12th is difficult to alot of people because they require a good setup and accurate setup.i am not bashing here,i am just pointing this out.in TC you can get away with a setup that is not so good because you have the front wheels to pull the car into check.this will allow the car to still be drivable.if we had a way to educate people on car set up they would accel at 1/12th and enjoy it alot more.it is far less complicated than TC and the cars handle better also.
