Have you done any testing with boosted stock TC's yet, i.e. 10.5 & 13.5?

Saw a boosted 10.5 TC running Thunder Power on Sunday for the first time.

It was at least as quick as all the other cars out there including the 5 times UK champion etc.

Quick question:

Here in Denmark, the rules for outdoor have just been released. It is going to be 13.5T "blinky". What would be a good starting point for a Thunder Power motor, on a medium-big outdoor track?

I see a lot mentioning the green and blue rotors, but we are not allowed to switch the rotor, so it has to be the stock rotor.

The stock red rotor is great. I wouldn't worry about not being able to swap rotors.

Default 13.5 STARTING POINT

Anyone got a good starting point for use with a Tekin RS running 13.5 Boosted with a FDR of 6.15ish, I found the setting I was using with my SP V3 and Duo 3 is a bit boggy down low, I had the boost comming on quite early with them so will try increasing the start rpm, the track we run on has a tight we infeild but a massive main straight, any info would be grand.

You could try running around 25deg motor timing.
Don't max anything out on the ESC at first keep the temps in the 50's degC range.
Depending on the length of the straight you might find that lower gearing and a bit more timing might help you.

Do you have any photo's of the track?

I ran mine in Cotswolds at the weekend and it was really good, I back to backed it with SP MMM motor and found it a lot better, I had motor timing set at around 28 with 40 boost and 24 turbo geared at 7.8..

I know James Hart was running one (it was his I was reffering to) and was geared at 7.0.

What ESC were you using?

I ran SP 2.0, I was happy with motor/speedo so I didn't change to much after that. Great track

Is there a limit to the amount of timing that can be applied to the Z3R motor? I understand the motor has end bell up to 50 degrees but how much more timing can you apply via the ESC theoretically (I'm not talking real world heat, failure etc )

If you look at it just theoretically, I would say max so around 50* on motor and depending on esc from 64* on a SP to 75* on a tekin so a total og 114 to 125*
