I saw in one of the pics that Masami was holding the Tub Car. Any driving done with it at that race and anything to report on it?
I wonder who's car Masami was holding up. Not his... it had Novak Electronics in it. I'd like to get the conversion kit to see how it does on carpet.

i thought his car was GSG (gold surfaced graphite)

howdy folks,
I have a couple of questions for you SD fanatics:
- what have you replaced the A-arms plastic washers with? It's just incredible how much slop these things build... One mine the Arms could move back and forth close to 7/10ths of a mm... Does any hop-up maker have aluminium washers that would fit? I'm using standard plastic washers for now, but I'd like something more sturdy...
- Any advice on how to get rid of the slop in the steering system? It seems to be coming from the left plastic bellcrank mostly... the part has some radial play on the axle. Any aftermarket solution (besides new ballcups)?
- What do you need in order to use rayspeed springs? New shock collars? New ballcups? Can somebody please help and give me a parts list? Thanks!
Raced the car saturday (rubbers on carpet)... I sucked in the qualifiers, but got my brain back together for the mains, however, it was too late already... Won the B ( twice 1st, once 2nd)... Not making the A sucks...
As far as breakage is concerned, despite what I've heard about-arms and caster block, I've broken nothing so far. Car seems pretty tough to me, and still it's one of the first generation cars. I've only replaced the front UJ's with Square Ti ones, and suzuki steering blocks. I have tons of spares that I bought just in case, and so far they've been useless! (knock on wood) Actually I see broken Tc3's way more often than broken Yokes...
But... I still hate the way that car memorizes tweak. And the transmission is still not free... Good car overall, but not perfect yet.
Thanks for your help!
Later,
Paul

lonestar:
arm spacers - Not had any major problems with that, have however added some real thin shims at a couple of places. There are manufacturers that make aluminium ones, dunno who though. I have seen Xray drivers use some purple ones and HPI as well.
steering slop - Yes, bad point. Same as on the old TC. You can replace cups and balls and get rid of some but not all. I don't know if the Rayspeed version is any better as I have not tried it.
rayspeed springs - Use Part# RS-15 Rayspeed Spring Cups (Long Spring Type, 2 Ea)
