Any one gone from the Yokomo to the Xray did you notice any great improvements. Also did the Yokomo shell fit ok on the Xray.

The car runs like a dream though (when it's not broken). Seven packs through now. Still looks new underneath since I'm running on carpet.

First race with xb4 yesterday and no breakage's. Practiced all day friday and raced saturday. Not 1 broken part.

But here is the bad- I was on pace friday with good lap times. Buggy felt good. Well then race day came. Im so concerned this things gonna break with 9 other cars going full bore and the possibilitys of a wreck. So, I back off unintentionally. Its just almost messing with my head with all the stuff that goes on in this thread as far as breakages. 2 rounds in and im slow. I have 1 more qualifier and im desperate. I go to the car and break out the trusty dex410v3 and proceed to run a great qualifier on pace with the top 15 and my luck with this last qualifier got tangled in a wreck and cost me. Could not even get out of 22 second lap times in first 2 quals with xb4. I ran a 19.8 in the 3rd with the durango. The main i finally ran a clean run(respectable). With the Durango though.

Moral of the story- I have no confidence in this car.

Xray if you read this thread. Please hurry up and get the new bulkheads to USA ASAP!

I did the same thing the first race, now have 3 races on the car. Absolutely no problems. You have the Durango as a backup, so drive the crap out of it and I think you'll find you want need the spare parts. As a whole, the majority of xb4's have had no issues. Not trying to minimize the problems some have had.

yea i had limiters in the shock retainer, i think xray just hollowed them out to much ,trying to keep there rotating mass so light ,they are weak and it just snapped. but i still really like the car , im going to sale my b44.2 and sx3.

Not sure if anyone has discovered this or not but the hexes for the LOSI SCTE are a perfect replacement so you can use your existing Associated wheels

They are 1mm thinner than stock..

the spring retainer... I run a couple old shock o-rings there as a "bump stop" rather than hard plastic spacers. Takes a little of the sting out of the hit. I seem to be overshooting the landings with this car and am landing flat a lot, and casing a few jumps as well. When the upgrade kit comes it will be an interesting rebuild. My chassis looks tweaked. Just at the rear, the tranny mount extension part.... big deal this car rocks I love it and am about to throw my zx5fs2 on ebay and let it go at any price.

Broke an outdrive on the front diff today.
Not really sure how I did it, but I heard it snap when landing on top of a small table jump with a 180 degree turn on it.
I did some silly throttle/brake action to straighten out the car before landing, so it might have something to do with it (hitting full throttle just before landing a bit sideways, not sure). This was on high grip carpet.

Still, I`m not complaining. This car has taken a lot more beating than my Lazer FS2 SP would have handled. Last year I broke 3 chassis plates on one practice night with the Kyosho. I dont see that happening aytime soon with this car

Anyway, I was not on the standard carpet setup, and missed it a lot. The standard setup for carpet it fantastic!

What pistons are you running? On a smaller track I felt my car was too bouncy but did well in the corners. I used 5x1.3mm pistons and 35/30 for shock oil, it glides over everything now. Give that a shot.

short run today, definitely gotta tune for more pack, heavy oils were ok but took away the plushness at speed. dang car is so fast I overshoot everything. Time to bust out the bits.
And my chassis is definitely bent, I wasn't sure about my bench being flat so I used a one inch thick piece of glass at a friends and the rear is bent up a mm or so...
Absolutely not worried about breaking anything.

On what surface is that?
