Bevel deformity
Thanks dude, those were some of the factors i was considering. I'm going down to the local R/C shop and getting me a whole new set of bevel gears and prop. And yes the bearing is in place.
Thanks for your help, i'll keep you posted on the result. Using this car, i have gone from C-main contender to B-main contender Ilove this car

I have just received my tamiya evo2
and i must say i am very impressed with the car's looks and handling. unfortunately for my past two outings, it seems like my rear bevel gear is stripping. Has anyone of you ever experience this, if so please advice. I'm at my wits how to solve this problem.
Thank you very much in advance.

I also had a bevel pinion gear whose hole (where the prop shaft comes in) became rounded. This lost me my drive on the rear wheels and I only noticed this after losing a race. Hard part to replace.... I still have to find a replacement.

Bevel deformity
Thank you rough512,
I personally hand built the car from scratch(new), everything fitted well. yes i see your point on how the bevel can be deformed. But it happened twice dude, the second time even after careful rebuilt. I've now inserted a new bevel in, change the whole rear gear case and dropped in a brand new TGX ball diff in them. If this doesn't work i'm shelving the car and concentrating on my TAO4R Once again thank you for the tip, i'll try the car out and see how it goes. Incidently i've also reduce the braking travel on my transmitter, me thinks one more possibility could be my hard braking

Hi, I've been browsing the entire thread.
You remarked that your mutant TB01 is faster that your EVO2?Could you post your TBO1 setups and modifications? I also noticed that apart from using a rear MR4TC shock tower, you are also using MR4 arms?
I have a TB Evolution 1 and I am satisfied with its handling. I'm just not happy seeing how the outdrives are wearing. I think the car could still be faster if the universal shafts are straighter.
I'm eyeing a TB01 / CF chassis being sold at our track. I'm planning to buy it but I'm not sure whether I can get it close to the handling my Evo1 currently has.
Thanks...

Gear Covers
Guys
I just want to share a neat gear cover I made for spur gears. The track where I race is littered with tiny pebbles and I was averaging 1 spur gear / pinion gear in two sessions.
I made this from an old plastic box similar to those used for keeping pills.
I never has a pebble caught in there again with this mounted...

The cover was mounted using a thin bolt from the Tamiya Mini 4wd series. It came with some spacers and a lock nut

I inserted the bolt through a hole in the aluminum motor mount, I countersunk the bolt head so the motor can still be mounted flush
