The first time I made an order through them this invoice email went into my Junk folder, so I thought I was being ignored as well. Once I paid the invoice they were very responsive.

So moral of the story is if you haven't actually paid yet, check your junk box for an email from "[email protected]".
Thanks WesRaven, great to know, would you believe not 5 minutes after I posted, I received email confirmation and status to processing.

Default Help Needed

Hey all,

I've just got my hands on a new A700 kit - the guy I bought it off hadn't even finished building it so its pretty much as new. It has the FFG & came with a separate GD2 plus all the xray shims/gears needed. I've attached a photo below.

My 1st question is, what model is it?

My 2nd question is, can anyone recommend any upgrades that may be worth doing? I've seen a few pics of A700's with narrower chassis' - would this be worth doing? I'm looking at running it in our stock class (21.5t blinky) on low grip asphalt outdoor.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

That looks very similar to mine which I think is the Evo 1. Upgrades, well, it's hit and miss, I'd focus on a few suspension spares but also a strong front bumper (like the reflex racing one) and upgrade to the MM2 motor mount as it makes life a bit easier to adjust gearing etc.

I run 21.5 locally and find it's a bloody fast car, about half a second quicker than my T4 was and about a second quicker than my son's TA05 (all run similar electrics) the challenge for me has been keeping it on the track.

Quick question, my car came with the #3 dampers and soft 'springs'. Most setup sheets use the #6 dampers with standard springs and there are charts for setting them. If I go to #3 damper with normal springs is there a conversion I can use to convert setup sheet setting to what I would need to use with #3 dampers... hope that question makes sense

Finally managed to finish up my A700 Evo and made a for sale thread.

It has only seen 4 days of practice and has been fitted with many option parts.

More details can be found here:

I understand that the D2.1 comes factory assembled, couldn't find any specs for D2.1S though.

thanks
I think the D2.1S is just not assembled.

Anyone else having problems with the new ballcups that come with the A700 EvoII kit, mine keep popping just by looking at them, had the A700 Evo (that one didnt have the new ballstuds, but it had the new ballcups with holes in them) before and didnt have this issue. Car have only been run 2 races and 2 practices, and im not the one known for chrashing so much, so i dont think they are worn out already!!
Is there a substitute for the standard ballcup?

What does adding washers under am06s do? Just widen the wheelbase? Does it have other effects?

It will raise the roll centre and change the droop setting on that axle. Measure the droop before adding the washer either as over ride height or as axle height using a ruler with the chassis on a set up board, then adjust to match after adding the shim. HTH

Has anyone tried using the RFG on a carbon chassis? Am I thinking of trying it on my a700 evo as I need more rear grip.

I had similar response to the at21 balls for upper camber links with p13 ball ends. For 2 yrs I ran top balls and ends instead.

St24/m/l and p13-4 hold very very well. Ive only run them on the Evo2 kits..

Well it's the st24 and p13-4 combo I have the problems with, feels like the ballcups are to soft!!!
Is there a substitute for p13-4 from another brand!!!

The TOP combo based upon 5.3mm balls and cups is rock solid. If your really hitting stuff... I know this combo will work rock solid as I have 1.75 yrs experience with this combo.

The original Awesomatix plastic ends were a reuse of kyosho plastics.

Same here, been using the TOP balls and ends from the start with no problems. Still 'feels' sturdy and tight.

If anyone has a set of d2 dampers, not d2.1, I'd be OK with just the vanes and top caps, please give me a shout.
