The Evo2 and this car have been great to build...I really appreciate the craftmanship. The raycer did have a diff that was not put together correctly but that was easily fixed after getting a tool. The servo mounts are a total of .2 inches wide. I can fit a 2.5 mm hex wrench between the servo and each mount so obviously it is not holding much servo.

did you just squeeze the shoo goo between the mounts and the servo?

Joneser, I think Jimmy meant to Shoo Goo the servo to the bottom of the chassis. You can also use servo tape on the bottom and Shoo Goo around the edges.

the servo mounts are a little wide but they will fit any servo. i run jr8450's in my xray's and have no problem just let the servo sit in both mounts equally and tighten them up. this holds it tight enough that if you don't space it in on the EVO'S that in most cases you'll break the servo case if you get hit on the passenger side.

you're right the car has just the same a mount of rip as the others, and the motor is really close at 7.50

Heres a pic!!! I also shimmed it back quite a bit to get the angle out of the drag link. Then as added insurance- i put a crush spacer between the servo and mount in case of a head on collision!!! I hope you can see it in the shot. Its nothing more than thick paper stock wrapped in tape.

Oh-yeah-I also had to use a Tc3 Servo shim and I also used two 4-40 washers (wide ones) to really clamp the servo down onto the mounts. I knew I couldnt screw the screws in too tight as I might strip the mounts-so this is my possibly over-shade tree mechaniced way of doing it!!!

The worst part is this is not the servo I intend to use in the car. My other didgital JR8450 died in the gas car over the weekend so I had to put this Airtronics 94157 servo in it.

What type of servo is that 157? Does it have plastic gears?

The 157 is the predecessor to the 94257. It is metal geared and whicked fast. I believe the specs are: 0.06 to 60* and 93 oz torque at 6v. Its pretty old by now-but working fine.

I was trying to find it on the Airtronics servo specs page. I have a similar servo as well and didn't know the specs. I had to e-mail Airtronics and get the specs. Old as well.

I e-mailed Serpent-USA last week about the new pulleys. I got a reply from Ralph saying they were due in this week. You may want to call in an order if you want them right away. Unless, Jimmy has a secret stash of them....
