Novarossi engines thread

The special was the standard 2010 edition which had the CNC piston instead of the microcasted. The tuned has a more advanced timing. I have seen both 2009 models and the tuned has a 1 degree shifted opening in the crankshaft and a 0.3mm higher exhaust port compared to the standard.

That would give you a faster spooling motor. Higher exhaust port=higher top end rpm!!!!!!!

Yep, Someone explained to me the tuned had a more advance timed crankshaft but from what I have seen they are nearly identical. But Novarossi is changing specs from time to time and not telling us so I can not say something about the 2010 models and even from what I have seen is for sure not for all 2009 models delevered.
In simple words, the Flash is fast and the flash Tuned is faster, it is set for more RPM. If it is noticeable for an avarage racer or if he can setup the gearing and the rest of the car for getting it out of the tuned version is another question.

Thanks for clearing that up! I was thinking of getting a flash tuned as my next motor. I was looking at a kangaroo or a picco p7r edo modified but think I may spend the extra cash and get a flash. Any thoughts? I heard the kangaroo has a fragile liner and can crack if run to hot. Is this true?

hey everyone
i bought a 35 plus 21 pre run in engine. nib. off an ebay store.
the engine blew up after 3L of fuel, because of a faulty front bearing.
i emailed novarossi to discuss this issue of manufacture, and to discuss waranty.
they have subsequently put up on their website that no waranty will be given, if the engine was purchased from anyone on their distributor network.
so people beware.

Ok, so how would the Kangeroo compare with my Mega ZX21 DS2 EM? I understand it is a Picco based motor and is also a few years old now.
