PRS Spurs.

I bought a PRS 116 Spur thinking it would fit with no problems...

When mounted it rubs the motor mount. Has anyone else had this happen??

Pauls setup is listed in Dumas setup from cleveland. If you look close there are two of Duma's setups from cleveland pauls is the first one.

Nexus, I had this prob before when the car first came out. I took a sharpie to the motor mount and traced out the spur. Then took it to the bench grinder and shaved it a hair.

You still have my springs, right? Just make sure Rookie doesn't borrow them.

I did the same thing, but used a die grinder instead of a bench grinder

Nexus.....if you are truly using a PRS 116 Spur gear....it should not rub at all.
Try to measure your sideplay on your layshaft...to see if there is something wrong with your bearing retainers, or layshaft bearings.

Also....try using RW spur gears, I believe they have them @ IRP.

I hope this helps Nexus.

Best Regards

It "truly" is a PRS gear I bought from IRP.

It still rubs...I guess maybe I can sand down the inner portion of the spur or something.

Hell I'll just keep running 48P!! It's easy to set mesh LOL :P

KidDyn...I have your springs and will try to catch up with you this weekend. If not I'll mail them to you or something.

Nexus...we all run the PRS 64 Pitch Pro-Lite Touring Gears, see attached link to PRS http://www.precisionracingsystems.com/products/10

Perhaps they may have changed the mold.....made it a wider in width????

Also try the RW Gears!!

Don't do that. Then you'll have to shave every replacement spur. JK, man. That'll work too. I haven't had to touch mine since last season.

No worry's about the springs. We'll see each other. It's not likey my cop friends are going to rip me off or something. BUT... if I don't see you before your baby comes... then yes, please mail them.

Does anyone run the 3mm chassis with IB3800s?
Does the battery slots need to be shaved more to compensate?
Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a new or slightly used 3mm? Thanks!
