nexus--try flipping it around..I believe both sides of those spurs are not identical...one side has a ridge...worth a try..

I've been using the JWerks machined delrin spur for a while now and it works great with my FK05. It fits perfectly. http://www.jwerksrc.com/products-spurgears.html

I'll try to flip it, rub it down...oh nooooooo.
now ya know
Sorry 90s flashback.
Anyway yes it is a PRS Pro-Lite gear and it rubs the motor mount.
dal....from what I can see both sides have that ridge that sticks out in the center. but i'll mess with it again tonight.

Springsteel is not magic, see attached thumbs (most left tips). Yes, they are not HUDY.
TRF415 car kit is far more expensive than the T2 but parts are way cheaper. The only different (the way I see) would be what kind of tittle these cars will earned though out their lifetime.

The 415MSX was released before the T2, but AFTER the Yokomo BD...
Honestly, I'm not sure how Xray parts costs run at my LHS since I very rarely need to use them...durability has always been (and hopefully will continue to be) a strong point of the Xray line of cars.
I hae no idea what you are trying to show with the picture, but Hudy spring steel *IS* kind of like magic when you look at its strength to weight ratio and its overall durability when used in RC component applications....
I'm not sure but it may be a different alloy then they are using in their tools... Being a Tamiya fan I'm not surprised to hear you throw out the 'How many titles?' line...but the Xray cars are now winning on both foam and rubber with surprising consistency....Xray has not yet won a world championship(which is a silly title considering it only covers one style of racing...rubber on asphalt), but Xray's race team was not as extensive or experienced as Tamiya's either. Don't insult the calibre of the drivers that won the championships for Tamiya by pinning it all on the chassis.....and watch out for Xray in future races with the emergence of their young drivers stepping up to become top level talents...

I`m really not surprised to your direct reply as an Xray die hard. Just letting you know as well, I do sell Xray more than any other EP cars, 10 by 1 I would say. I also never question Xray quality nor durability (except first generation of spur gears to be honest). Saying me as an Tamiya fans is not at all relevant.
I wish you looked at my post on a positive way so the TRF guys wont shout us off for something we did not know exactly (easy access bulkhead is what I meant). So before I continue to defend what I said to your unfavor reply to my post.. I suggest you can take it to PM format before we create a mess in this thread.

FYI,
Latest one-way/carpet/foam setup update...

However, If may politely share my thoughts... Why do you spend so much time trying to reinvent the wheel? Do you honestly think your setups running springs 3,4,5 steps harder than the fast guys is going to one day all the sudden lay down some stupid fast laptimes that nobody will believe? lol... Seriously, I read that last post and you said yourself that the car got better on softer springs. You seem to know a little about suspension tuning (you are book smart, and know what the terms mean, but inexperienced) so wouldn't it make sense to keep moving in the same direction to see if it gets better? Why not start with a known good setup and do all that testing to see if you can improve it? You stated that you qualified 18th in basically a glorified club race- that's not all that great.
I suppose it really wouldn't matter to me or anyone else if you want to try to make your oddball setup work, but in your case you are sharing all this information with new Xray racers who might think your setup is the way to go because you are a moderator on the Xray forum and you sound like you know how to do some great tuning, When the truth is that your setup is going to make their cars handle ill and be very hard to drive and extermely sensitive to changes. I personally believe if you want to be a moderator and continue to act as if you are a big part of the Xray Racing Team, then it is your responsibility to share quality information with fellow Xray racers.
In fact, as I read (and thought this in the past, too) your post, I thought to myself, this guy (pun intended) is beating his brains out trying to run a crazy setup and nitro tires!! But there is good information hidden in all of this because you do a great job of reporting what effects the small changes you make have on the car. To be brutally honest Guy, you are trying to polish a turd. No matter how shiny you get it, in the end it's still a turd. My Dad used to say "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken s*!t"...lol.
If you want to be an asset to Team Xray, why don't you start with a setup that is known to be fast, and make all those small tuning changes and report them- THIS WOULD BE GREAT INFORMATION!!!! There are many racers who would benefit from knowing your results to help them know which way to go on tuning for thier own track, etc.
I hope you don't take my humor and poor grammar as offensive- I didn't mean ti to be. It's just that I have been reading your posts here and on the xray forum and I finally got frustrated enough to offer my opinion. I can relate to your determination to be different- I've been there. I'm trying to help a few local guys who are like you in that aspect. One racer is determined NOT to run a racing body on carpet- he keeps on trying to make his car work with non-race bodies. His latest doesn't even have a touring wing, it just has a regular spoiler on the back- and he just CAN NOT figure out why he's so far off the pace. Even if he had the writing skills and commitment (as you do) to report all of his racing notes, they would be almost pointless because he's the only one trying to run illegal (ROAR) factory looking bodies.

That's one interesting setup, but I've heard from a number of people now that among the American drivers, Pauly is as talented as they get.

if the fast guys don't run spools and one-ways on carpet, I'm not doing either. When I first got my 415 I was forced to run a one-way on carpet and it was like driving one of those Tyco remote control cars that spin in a circle.
