Hahah I come from 2 years of off road including SCT intermediate. Hackings close to nothing (except VTA) in our on road comparatively. Even at delta with the small track everyone runs super clean .

If you are using a lot of tire prep that can cause the natural oils in the rubber to deplete over time and makes them harder. You can freshen them up a little by also cleaning them with WD40 then put a good coat on the tire and let it soak in. This puts some oil back in the rubber and they will soften up a little. Sounds weird putting oil in the rubber but it does work. An old dirt kart racing trick to get more bite from the tire.

Also I glued up my tires. I might have stuffed up one sidewall on a rear tire, but the tire seems balanced and glued proper. You do not glue the foam strip for the rear tires correct?

I don't glue them but i sometimes use double sided tape to stick the foam to the wheel so the foam dosen't float or bunch up. Not much use on a tight technical track but very helpful on high speed tracks.

Yeah I noticed that when I gave it full 7.5 throttle with stock gearing, the rear wheels were super out of whack probably because of the foam not expanding properly w.r.t. the rubber. At slow speeds no vibrations at all.

TLRrunner are u planning on coming down to SA for the EOS ?? Going to race my 101 this Saturday for the first time here at Al's hobbies, I had Marcus Williams show me the way for my first F1 since I was totally in the dark.

Hi.

I tried to fit a tamiya f2012 body in my TRF 101 but the front part doesn't fit. Do I have to cut some of the material, if yes which parts? Just want to be sure before I do it.

You'll have to cut out whichever parts get in the way by eyeballing it.

Mostly finished building mine. Like what I see, but didn't quite expect the amount of slop on the ball-ends for a kit like this. Also not sold on the diff yet, the other similar diffs I have run better (F104 diff in F109; Corally diff). The TRF101 either slips or runs very heavy. Smooth, granted, but heavy. Also some play on the shock piston. Given their reputation I didn't expect that. All in all, not as pleased as I thought I would be :/

TRF101 has more tuning/setup options with side link positions. And its front upper arms are stronger than f104 arms which pop out or break in a crash.
Better in those aspects for sure.

Hey guys, I'm a long time offroad electric driver and am looking to try something new and have decided to get in f1. I'm going to be getting the 101, but have absolutely nothing in onroad gear. I've been looking and will probably get the titanium screws out the gate so I have hex screws. But what am I going to need for shims/ spacers for tuning? I'm going to get springs and damper grease. But what else will I need? What are the normal spur/ pinion ranges? I'm going to run a d3.5 21.5 motor. Also, is a low profile necessary or will my Ko rsx servo work well? Thanks in advance for any help.
